@Longnosedfish This makes sense since the term “downtown” originated in New York City (to literally refer to the lower part of manhattan)

New York has always been the only city to autistically stick to rigid literal definitions of downtown as opposed to "where people hang out" and I'll always support them on this losing battle

Over the past week over 32,000 people, across over 2,000 cities have contributed to what they define as "downtown." NYC is clearly delineated by the East-West streets as northern borders. Chicago centres on the loop, but bleeds into the surrounding areas. London is bi-modal.
