@ASpittel Honest question. When you break the problems down and solve those. How do you know the composition of the solutions is still correct and a solution for the original problem?

When I teach people to code, I see a lot more people struggling with problem-solving than the code itself. The ability to break a problem into smaller ones and then solve all of those smaller problems takes a lot of practice.

A small summit for #Peace in a small town in the center of Italy. An ukranian lady at the mic. "As mothers we are worried for our sons in UA. Mothers of Russian soldiers, we beg you: please tell your sons to get back home". Heartbreaking message #StandWithUkraine #PeaceNotWar

@SamAllenX 1/ As an interviewer, I like to let the candidate know I want them to do great. Unfortunately not all will, but I think bringing some positivity reduces nervousness. Our job as an interviewer is to help conjure the best performance so good candidates don’t slip thru the cracks.

And ultimately the goal is not pair/mob programming as an end in itself, it's making sure we have: * fast, rich feedback loops as we design and implement * a safe environment that promotes learning and experimentation * mechanisms to share knowledge through the team

@matteocollina Saying "is not your fault" is not the real solution IMHO. Fear comes from ignorance. Rather solve the problem by getting knowledge: 1. Add tests for the code you are about to change 2. Get more knowledge by writing tests 3. Do refactoring 4. Introduce the change applying TDD

Dev often fear changing legacy code. Why? They think something would break and they would not know about it. Often legacy code is not well tested and there is no knowledge about it in the team. Embrace change. If the code breaks because of lack of tests - it’s not your fault.
