No materialistic theory can account for the origin of the universe, because such theories require matter to exist in order to explain causation. Still, before the universe began, there was, by definition, no matter to do the causing.

According to Genesis, God created light on day one but didn't make the sun until day four. The author didn't even have a basic grasp of where light comes from. God is no less illiterate than the men he inspired.

@DeeWaynee94 Quantum mechanics doesn’t explain the origin of everything—it assumes laws, fields, and time already exist. “Nothing” in physics is still something. The real question is why anything exists at all—and QM can’t answer that.

‘Everything came from nothing’ is not the atheist position, it’s the strawman believers recite when they can’t grasp quantum mechanics, don’t read cosmology, and still think talking snakes are deep philosophy. You want absurd? A magic sky-dad wishing up the universe beats nothing in stupidity.

@Purrymann113 Saying “God created evil so He must be evil” is like saying light causes darkness because darkness appears when light is blocked. Evil isn’t a thing God created—it’s what happens when good is rejected.

If God created everything, the goods and evils. Then God can't be "all good" because without God there will be no evil. Based on the premise, God is all evil too.

Just wondering….. If free will is what allows us to “sin” and then give birth to flawed humans and evil…… wouldn't that make free will a flaw of creation?

You can say you do, but the next time you vouch for equality, freedom, or life, consider that for those imposing it differently on you taking by them away is as valid as your position to defend it. There is no evil in the world, just preferences.

@hookskat His desire for mankind is the complete opposite. He would still honor your exercise of free will either correctly or incorrectly. The criterion for “correctly” is also already known to us too. I think Paul is right when saying “we are without excuse”.
