No sane person within ZANU PF or the institutions of the state can genuinely find acceptable the level of extravagance and opulence displayed at the so called ‘wedding’ in a country bleeding from extreme poverty, collapsing public healthcare, unemployment and deep social despair. Such obscene accumulation of wealth is taking place while their own ordinary party members and the general citizenry survive on crumbs, abandoned by the very system they defend and campaign for. It’s a mess! #NoTo2030

Seven days ago I warned Wicknell that this image would destroy him. Instead of going to make amends with the mother of his children and her family who he threatened with it, to avoid the photo leaking, he became arrogant and got Sonia and her mother arrested and this triggered the release of the image. Now things are unraveling, even mapostori are telling him not to come to church today. He might not know it now but this image will finish him and his boss in the long run. It’s the Grace Mugabe hitting the girl with the cable moment for the Second Republic. My advice to him this week is this. You owe the mother of your children and her mother (amai vako) reparations (muripo) for abusing them and also 50/50 divorce settlement. Failure to do that, you will witness your life unravel faster than you saw this week. Had you listened to me, none of this would be happening. Uchatandabotso kana usina kungwara m’ningina, nekuti zvawakaita, hazviitwe! Ndiri kuyambira ini mukoma wako Gono.

My brother, Wicknell shows off too much. As a result he sends many sensitive videos to people without realising that those videos could destroy nations, our leaders and him. Ask him who he was with in this video and who he sent this video to, and whether he understands the damage this video he sent while threatening someone could do. If I wanted to destroy Wicknell, I could, but I don’t want to destroy Wicknell. He is my country man and the relationships he is jeopardising while threatening people are important to me and our nation. Regai vakomana, Regai!

It is deeply shocking that Wicknell Chivhayo, a convicted fraudster and person of interest in South Africa, can weaponize Zimbabwe’s police and justice system against anyone he has personal conflicts with. First it was Mpofu and Chimombe, who committed no criminal offence yet continue to rot in jail. Now the same police, judiciary, and prosecutorial system are being abused to settle a private domestic dispute with his ex-wife. This is a complete collapse of justice and proof that state institutions have been captured by Emmerson and his fellow thieves. Mnangagwa, the Chief Justice, and Matanga must be ashamed for allowing Zimbabwe’s justice system to become a personal revenge tool for elites. Zimbabweans deserve equal justice, not selective persecution and abuse of power. Haana nyadzi Emmerson.
Rutendo Matinyarare@matinyarare

Apparently Magistrate Manokore who is involved in Sonia’s case is ill, so her bail issue could not be finalized today. They must come back tomorrow. Sounds like the same banana republic type of stuff that has become synonymous with the Mnangagwa/Tagwirei/Chivayo oppressive style of governance. Mzembi served 1 year for no crime. Do you now see why I don’t support the term extension of this cabal?

𝗭𝗜𝗠 𝗗𝗥𝗨𝗚 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗢𝗥𝗚𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗦𝗘𝗗 𝗖𝗥𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 𝗗𝗢𝗖𝗨𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗬. In the same way that I was approached by government officials to produce a documentary on our liberation shrines in Mozambique, I was also approached by a group of politicians, police officers, and intelligence officers to conduct an exposé on drug dealing in Zimbabwe. Since then, I have used both normal and hidden cameras to gather testimonies from detectives, police officers, immigration officials, sex workers, drug dealers, runners, and ordinary citizens. They have provided information, both on and off camera, about those who are bringing drugs into the country hidden in body panels of imported cars, those allowing them to pass through the border, the panel shops that recover the drugs, the runner running them, and the alleged kingpins within leadership structures. I have even been taken to film drug dens, deliveries and pick ups from some of the most surprising addresses in Harare. What has emerged is that various political and business figures are involved in feeding drugs into communities, in order to pacify resistance. The drug crisis in Zimbabwe has been engineered to make unemployed youth more controllable and less politically active, so that they do not protest against the government. The arrests are just elimination of competition by the politicians. These engagements have also revealed so-called “black and white gold” smuggling routes. The black route involves actors within the Ministry of Mines and the judiciary who allegedly manipulate and legalise the theft of mining claims from established mining companies on behalf of politically connected individuals. Then there is also a group of machete-wielding enforcers, sometimes referred to as “Al Shabaab,” who intimidate, assault, and in some cases kill people in the process of forcibly taking over smaller mines. Once these mines are seized, they are incorporated into a bigger network controlled by a small number of elites with exclusive rights to buy gold from artisanal and small-scale miners. The gold is then exported for smelting in Dubai without paying royalties. Some mines even employ slaves who are paid food parcels. The white route is described as a parallel network involving white farmers, Chinese, and other business actors who allegedly mine without licences on farms and even registered mining claims. The gold is then reportedly flown out of the country through Charles Prince Airport and exported without payment of taxes or royalties. Some is also moved through Kanyemba (see image below) and the upper Zambezi into Zambia by boat, destined for international markets. As a result, it is claimed that Zimbabwe has significant volumes of wealth held in offshore tax havens, second only to Dubai and Afghanistan. According to a cabinet member, some individuals and companies are able to move as much as US$30 million worth of gold per month. Facilitating this process, the Minister of Agriculture, Masuka, is alleged to have assisted certain white farmers, particularly in Nyabira, in the removal of black resettled farmers and war veterans from their land, enabling control over farms where gold is extracted and transported. There is also trafficking of weapons entering Zimbabwe from Kanyemba and along the Zambezi corridor. It is not yet clear what these are used for. Additionally, there is trafficking of migrants from Somalia and Ethiopia through Zimbabwe into South Africa, at an estimated cost of around R160,000 (US$10,000) per person to be delivered to Johannesburg. All of this is said to be controlled by a small number of well-connected individuals whose identities are known and documented in the film. I have tried to edit this documentary to show the findings without exposing the people who provide the information but it’s proving difficult. However, as a nation in crisis, it is necessary that we ask whether we have the right people in positions of leadership.

Chamisa is a grown man and must defend himself. However, we are obliged, by honour, to defend the space in which he operates because this is also the space in which we all exist. It is unacceptable for anyone, let alone a publication, to manufacture a story in order to besmirch a person’s name, subject him to scrutiny, and call his reputation into question. It is equally unacceptable for a publication to threaten to release evidence merely to keep its story relevant. If you have the evidence just release it. In any case, Nelson says he has said nothing negative about fellow democratic actors. That is the position that will detain us. Every sane person knows that CAB3 is to be resisted.

Fellow Zimbabweans, on Wednesday night, Zimbabwe was left without a President after Mnangagwa sneaked out of the country without following presidential airport protocol. Leaving the country without an acting president, Mnangagwa left in a private Embraer Legacy 600 P4777 jet owned by Alex Zingman, a notorious arms dealer that was accompanied by a cargo plane that took our gold and diamond. There has been no official communication up to now. But fellow Zimbabweans, Mnangagwa is now returning with a luxury Boing 735 - 7Z5 (BBJ) VIP business jet, He is an hour away from landing at Robert Mugabe International Airport. We have been monitoring his movements and we will be there again to monitor what those planes are bringing. We know Mnangagwa is carrying weapons bought with our minerals and money to be used against us. His motorcade was spotted going to the airport an hour minutes ago. But Fellow Zimbabweans, don’t worry, we have and will always be ahead of him.

HON. ENG. MHANGWA HARRASSED AT WORKER'S DAY EVENT Chinhoyi Citizens youth member alleges state agents grabbed Chinhoyi MP, Hon. Eng. Leslie Mhangwa at Alaska Dolomite's WORKER'S DAY commemorations. "Vabvuta microphone, grabbed him so that they took him away and we retaliated," the source said, requesting anonymity. The incident has sparked outrage among citizens, with many calling for Mhangwa's safety and respect for democratic rights. The event, meant to commemorate workers, turned tense as authorities allegedly clamped down on the MP. Having driven down to Maphisa yesterday to celebrate the 46th anniversary of Zimbabwe’s Independence I remain deeply concerned about the state of the road to Maphisa. Although construction work has been done on virtually the whole length of the road it is nowhere near finished. In fact for much of the length of the road all that has been done is the grading of either side of what used to be narrow tar. The narrow bridges remain the same and the old narrow tar is in very bad condition. In fact most the road was extremely dangerous. I recognize that contractors are still on site and had parked their construction vehicles to facilitate the high volume of traffic yesterday, so remain hopeful that they will remain on the road until it has been completed all the way from Bulawayo to Maphisa. My fear is that now that Independence Day is over that the contractors will move elsewhere leaving most of the road in a worse state than it was before the work started. I have already had one report of construction vehicles being moved to Masvingo and hope that isn’t going to be a trend. I call on Government to confirm that construction will continue along the entire length of the road and to give an indication when it expects the road to be finished.

The Compensation Steering Committee (CSC) for former White Farmers has released a press statement criticising the Zimbabwean government’s claims about progress in compensating commercial farmers who were dispossessed during the land reform programme of the early 2000s. MEDIA STATEMENT – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Compensation Steering Committee, Zimbabwe 15 April 2025 Zimbabwe Government’s Farm Compensation Claims are Misleading: Thousands of Evicted Farmers Still Await Fair Compensation Harare – The Compensation Steering Committee (CSC), the legally mandated body representing the majority of Zimbabwe's dispossessed commercial farmers, today labelled recent government claims about compensation payments as misleading. In a media statement last week the Minister of Finance made a number of inaccurate claims regarding the settlement of compensation obligations. The same statement also quoted several individuals who do not represent the CSC or the majority of displaced farmers. In reality only a small token payment has been made and thousands of farmers – the significant majority by number - remain uncompensated. The limited number of farmers who have accepted the Government’s revised deal have generally done so because they are destitute and require urgent funds for food, accommodation and healthcare. More than 4,500 commercial farmers lost their homes and livelihoods during state-sanctioned land seizures in the early 2000’s. In July 2020 the government signed an agreement with the farmers called the Global Compensation Deed (GCD) to pay for improvements made on the land at a materially discounted value of US$3.5 billion. This discount compared to estimates by the Commercial Farmers’ Union (CFU) of US$10 billion and independent professional valuations of US$8.5 billion in 2020 values. The $3.5 billion negotiated discount in the 2020 GCD agreement was premised on a front-ended 5 year payment schedule in USD cash of which half would be paid in Year 1 and the remainder in 4 annual instalments. The overwhelming majority of farmers supported this deal in a survey at the time. To date, almost 5 years on, nothing has been paid per this agreement. Instead, in 2023 the Government offered an alternative payment schedule in Government Treasury Bills over ten years heavily weighted towards years 5-10. A token 2 percent interest rate was added which compares to regional USD interest rates of 10-20%. This revised offer was put to the farmers in April 2023 via a formal survey in which it was rejected by the majority of farmers. Whereas 3100 voted in favour of the 2020 proposal, only 782 voted for the adjusted offer in 2023. This was clearly communicated to the Government in official correspondence. Despite this rejection, the Government pushed ahead with the revised offer that became known as the Farmers Compensation Agreement (FCA) in which 378 farms have now (nearly two years later) received initial payments of 1% of their share of the discounted offer. "The bottom line is that government's recent payments represent a tiny fraction of the GCD’s $3.5 billion – which is already a substantial discount on the actual value of the properties, and these payments have reached fewer than 10% of farmers," stated Deon Theron, Acting Chairman of the CSC and a former President of the CFU. "The FCA was originally presented as interim relief payments for distressed farmers, but is now being repositioned and repackaged as a comprehensive compensation solution. This is simply not the case." The CSC members are appointed by the Commercial Farmers’ Union (CFU), the Southern African Commercial Farmers’ Alliance (SACFA) and the Southern African Agri Initiative (SAAI). These bodies collectively represent the majority of displaced farmers. The two individuals quoted as farmers representatives in the recent government press releases and international media are no longer representatives of the CSC or the CFU. Both Andrew Pascoe and Harry Orphanides were voted out of their previous roles more than a year ago in 2024 after ignoring democratic principles and continuing to pursue a deal that was rejected by the majority of the farmers they were supposed to represent. Allegedly they also ignored professional legal advice and have both failed to declare material conflicts of interest. The latest proposal to issue long-term unsecured government bonds as a compensation mechanism has also been rejected by the CSC. "These bonds do not clear the debt. They merely convert displaced farmers (Title Deed Holders) into bondholders reliant on very uncertain, very high-risk, very long-term payouts," explained Angus Selby also representing the CSC. "Furthermore, we have a series of legal opinions questioning the limited recourse in the event of non-performance. It seems that the elderly, desperate and destitute are being used strategically as a Trojan horse to pretend that compensation has been resolved when the actual numbers and values tell a totally different story." The CSC also emphasised that the FCA does not represent a substantive solution, nor does it meet the Government’s constitutional obligations to settle compensation at fair value within a reasonable timeframe. While the CSC acknowledges the government's stated intent to pay, it insists that a more comprehensive and viable solution must be explored to meet the expectations of all key stakeholders. It also cautioned the international community that accepting or promoting the FCA as a quick convenient fix to meet other objectives such as debt restructuring is unhelpful and irresponsible under the circumstances. The CSC, mandated by the majority of affected farmers, urges the government to engage openly and constructively to resolve the compensation issue properly. Such collaboration is crucial not only for addressing the rights and needs of dispossessed farmers but also for revitalising Zimbabwe's agricultural sector and strengthening both local and international trust.
