@reymondin Interessant.

@omgzen @LeaVerou That crazy that in WebKit Core you can find methods like isYahooMail(Document& document). I know that backwards compatibility is hard, but didn't imagined it was that hard!

I wish web developers realized how much concern and effort goes into improving the web platform in a way that doesn’t break existing content. Sometimes to a fault. Real example from recent discussion: “We can’t make this change [that would solve a big longstanding author pain point about HTML], because it could change how broken HTML renders in these 117 obscure websites.” 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

Friendly reminder: If your DB knows how to migrate schema in a transaction, don't forget to add `--all-or-nothing` flag 🏳 If you have 4 migrations to deploy, and the last fails, it won't broke your prod (thanks @tucksaun for the tip 💛)

Pre-surgery MRI time! These are big tubes you go inside and they’re loud and make cheesy 1980’s sci-fi noises. They’re oddly restful - no big deal. Let’s go!

@tobias_petry For the audits table in the examples, in practice you have to create the partition for the 2-3 years in the past and in the future (like 01/12-2024, 01/12-2025, 01/12-2026)?

⚡️ Database Tip Deleting hundreds of thousands of rows is slow, impacts your performance and doesn't free the allocated disk space. But you can delete old data very efficiently if you partition your table by time ranges and drop one of them. sqlfordevs.com/partition-dele…

As a maintainer I often think: You found a bug? Don't ping me about it, fix it and submit a PR! As a consumer I often think: Ooof I found a bug. PRing this myself would be way too hard because... - I have a busy day - I don't have a local environment setup for that project - It would be 1000x easier for the maintainer to fix ...I should at least ping the maintainer so they're aware. But because I have the perspective of a maintainer I try to put my money where my mouth is and submit PRs for things I need/want fixed. It's definitely not the easy choice, but as soon as you bite the bullet, install the repo locally, and dig in, you end up having fun, learning a lot, and becoming a more helpful member of the software community.
