@gilltrans @amelia_tweetz I'm glad they made me write stories in elementary school because that got me hooked on writing fiction. It was a few years later that I realized I wanted to write screenplays more than short stories.

I was told today by a 17-year-old that there was no way people were writing 10 page papers without Al. Dude, I was writing 10 page papers without having read the book.

@SkylarSkye3 That also depends on the size of the town you live in. When in a small town 15 minutes is far. In Atlanta 45 minutes is close.

I still laugh every time an American says somewhere is “close” and it’s a 30 minute drive.

@hannahf1776 Btw I love your social posts you are an example of someone good from the young generation. I live in GA and I’m not crazy about his position but Jones is also flawed and we must beat Keisha L-B

Americans want MASS DEPORTATIONS, not more refugee settlements. Rick Jackson supported Syrian refugee resettlement while Georgians face the consequences of mass immigration. Georgians vote with conviction on June 16. Burt Jones for Georgia Governor 🇺🇸
AF Post@AFpost

Rick Jackson, a gubernatorial candidate in Georgia’s GOP primary, has been tied to a Syrian refugee resettlement group. Jackson said we should accept immigrants from everywhere, only deporting the “criminal” illegals. Jackson has made his fortune importing visa workers, which brought him into conflict with the Trump administration in a lawsuit over H-1B visas. Follow: @AFpost

@ronsterd89 In the mid 80's RC held the soft drink contract with Auburn for food service. Their HQ was 30 miles away in Columbus, GA

@RepSainz I voted for Brad R and was originally for Jones, but I have to admit the Carr ads have led me to consider electability and money and the need to beat Keisha and I am changing to Jackson. Telling that Kemp has not endorsed Jones.

@EWErickson I think what you said makes sense. It's not just this election to stop Pratt from making the runoff - the entire system has been this way for years to keep Republicans from having a chance due to vote harvesting, etc...

@ajlamesa @GovKemp For us in North Fulton our main benefit for MARTA is taking the train out of North Springs for a trip out of Hartsfield-Jackson - and only for trips in the daytime.

Right. This is why I brought up @GovKemp. MARTA is so bad now that it's a reputational and competitiveness problem for the state. If you're visiting and take MARTA to downtown Atlanta or Midtown for a conference, you're not going to leave the state with a good impression.
Nicholas Oxford@ApolloToday

I think in the short and medium term, Georgia GOP actually benefits from the dysfunction on Marta. All of these incidents are going to be brought up on the campaign trail against Keisha. I think it's gotten so bad, that it's harming our ability to attract new company HQs compared to neighboring states. @HamptonPrezcott has been calling this out from the real estate perspective.

@ajlamesa @GovKemp MARTA's best chance to gain ridership was during the I-85 bridge repair after the fire . Had they been ready with clean and safe trains it could have made a difference. Will be more difficult now, but the new trains and renovated stations may help.. a little.

MARTA wasn't especially pleasant before Covid and it's been a disaster since. Why hasn't @GovKemp done anything to address insecurity and service problems on the biggest transit system in his state? It's strange to blame all of the agency's issues on Democratic politicians.

Fenway Park was built in 1912. There is no parking lot. The team tried to shake down Boston to help them replace it in the 90s and the city said no. It is still there, everyone loves it, and the team still makes a ton of money.
Eric Prisbell@EricPrisbell

Why the Mavericks and Stars say American Airlines Center is obsolete. Both teams are planning to leave the 25-year-old venue to build arenas elsewhere. My deep dive: dallasnews.com/business/artic…

@ashleyschendel I am more likely to back into a parking spot in a parking deck where the space between rows is less and visibility is not as good - also depends on which car (what size) I am driving.

Never once in my life have I backed into a parking space. Maybe it is safer. Maybe there is data. Maybe I am the problem. But pulling into a spot like a normal person and then backing out carefully has gotten me this far, so I’m probably not turning every Publix run into a driving test now.

@KylieJaneKremer I'll add another perspective here. Keeping the gas tax off would eventually impact the condition of our state roads which would lead to more and different complaits.

You saw this happen with the Coyotes, asking fans to drive 45+minutes out of the city 41+ times a year is a tall task, especially in a Sun Belt city. Atlanta is trying to do the same thing with an NHL arena in the far north suburbs, feel like it’s setting up for failure.
