KAP was in Ottawa last week for @CFAFCA AGM. It was an incredible opportunity for meaningful discussions with farmers, industry partners, policymakers, & government leaders about the future of agriculture. We look forward to continuing these important conversations.

Yesterday, I connected with representatives from Keystone Agricultural Producers to discuss some key challenges affecting their members and the agriculture sector in Manitoba. It was great to hear their support and advocacy for Bill S-230, my National Strategy for Soil Health Act! Thank you for your support and for taking the time to meet! @KAP_Manitoba @SenateCA

Thank you to @bankofcanada Governor Tiff Macklem for hosting our @KAP_Manitoba team and @CFAFCA in Ottawa last week. Great opportunity to highlight the economic state of agriculture in Manitoba and to discuss cost pressures facing farmers and what drives decision making on-farm.

Back in the summer, I wrote this op-ed on what we were seeing unfolding at AAFC. Really feel for those impacted. 'Plant breeding operates on decade-long timelines. The varieties farmers will need in 2035 are being worked on now — or should be. “Today’s announcement from the federal government on the removal of Chinese tariffs on canola meal, and a reduction in tariffs on canola seed, is welcome news for Manitoba producers. This temporary relief through the end of 2026 provides more certainty for the growing season.

My sincere condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Bob Mazer. Bob was a great Manitoban who helped to make Westman and our province a better place. His legacy will live on with Mazergroup, in the Ag industry and through his philanthropy. He will be missed!
