We need a mass world coalition to stop Israel’s genocidal march throughout the Middle East and the lawless terrorism and apartheid within its own borders. Boycott, Divest, and Sanction is the recipe to stop further violence. It’s Dr Martin Luther King’s strategy of peaceful change. We must deploy it en mass and create a coalition of those who we may not agree with politically on other fronts but find common ground on this rolling justice. It has awoken the moral center in most people.

Yesterday at the Knesset, Mickey Levy, a member of so-called "centrist" party Yesh Atid, tried to outflank Jewish Power members from the right, by describing how he ordered the cold-blooded murder of a handcuffed Palestinian, while serving as the Jerusalem District Commander of the Israeli Police during the Al-Aqsa Intifada. This event happened in 2002. Despite being a confessed murdered, Levy continued his career, became the Israeli Police attaché in the US, and later a Member of Knesset, Chairman of the State Audit Committee, Speaker of the Knesset, and Deputy Minister of Finance. Before serving as the Jerusalem District Police Commander, Levy also served as commander of the Judea and Samaria District. In the same year he ordered the murder of a handcuffed Palestinian, Levy received the "Knight for Quality Government" award from the Movement for Quality Government in Israel and the Channel 2 "Person of the Year" award.

There’s a lot of hatred towards Israel right now, and I think a lot of people are looking at this situation with absolutely no historical perspective. No country on Earth would tolerate what Israel has lived with since 1948. We’re talking about a country that was invaded the moment it was created. Multiple wars. Suicide bombings. Bus bombings. Rockets fired into civilian neighborhoods. Children growing up with bomb shelters as a normal part of life. Sirens going off and people having seconds to run for cover. Hostages taken. Civilians massacred. And people expect them to just sit there and do nothing? Americans talk big about freedom and security, but the truth is Americans could not live like that for 70+ years. If rockets were being fired into Texas or California for decades, if terrorists crossed the border and killed 1,000 Americans in one day, the response would be overwhelming and it would not even be debated. It would be finished quickly and decisively. But when Israel responds, suddenly the world holds them to a completely different standard than every other country on Earth. Another thing people don’t want to talk about is history. The Jewish connection to that land is not something that started in 1948. It goes back thousands of years. Archaeology, recorded history, ancient kingdoms, temples, language, culture - all tied to that land long before most modern countries even existed. Meanwhile countries like America, Australia, Canada - we can’t even make that same historical claim to the land in the same way. So if we’re going to be honest and fair, we have to be consistent. Either every country has the right to defend its citizens and exist in security, or they don’t. But singling out one country in the world and expecting them to live under constant attack, constant terrorism, constant threats of destruction, and then condemning them every time they respond is not fairness. That’s politics.

This is a disturbing, outrageous miscarriage of justice. It menaces our already threatened hard-won democratic right to protest. The verdict must be overturned.

Israel was severely pummeled yet again tonight. 14 were injured in the Tel Aviv region, including an 11 year old girl hit in Bnei Brak and fighting for her life, a 12 year old boy seriously injured and his mother with moderate injuries. Despite the continued assurances from the IDF that Iran has run out of missiles, every night Israelis spend in shelters and every morning there are new patients in the hospitals. They lie.
