I prefer complete division of the proximal aortic neck for proximal anastomosis when performing aortic work. This was a large AAA with occluded iliacs in a 💁‍♀️Other anatomical criteria included severe neck angulation, small distal aorta and calcified small EIA. #AortaEd for women

Efficiency cannot be measured by volume alone. Patients becoming more complex but the tools we have are from the 1980s. No EHR and no electronic prescribing in almost every hospital. Disconnected lab systems with no single patient identification number. Glacial progress on IT.

Everyone wants to be a vascular surgeon. Until they can’t get signals. Then the first person called is a vascular surgeon

Vascular surgeons . What is your least favorite operation and why is it temporal artery biopsy ?!

You don’t always have to take out the whole endograft. Cut the fabric along with aorta and the graft becomes an internal pledget. You can also clamp the graft. Here I’m using one of my favorite clamps. If it’s infected, take the whole graft out(this isn’t infected) #AortaEd
