@juneshannon Sometimes I give them ‘the hard stare’ before moving off. They might think I’m weird but I couldn’t care less. I also utter a louder than necessary ‘Goodbye’ - that really unnerves them. 🤣 .

Went into a shop in Dublin City centre this evening. Went to pay at the till said hello smiled & handed my items to the cashier who was chatting to his mate. He continued to chat with his mate for the entire transaction without once looking at or even acknowledging my existence.

There were 118 Covid-19 deaths recorded in January this year. It compares with 327 deaths in January last year and 1,424 in January 2021 - official data from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre.

@NChildersMEP @BirdWatchIE I love feeding the wild birds too but have made the decision to give it a miss for the moment. H5N1 has crossed over to infect mammals and there is one alleged case of human infection in Texas. It’s just too unpredictable right now. I’ll certainly avoid bird tables/feeders etc.

While shopping at the grocery store, I say to the woman next to me wearing a KN95: "Great mask... you're one of the smart ones. Thank you for wearing one." She says, "I have cancer. Thank you for wearing a mask."

@PanickedFoodie Going to the periodontist next week, which doesn't require masks in the waiting room AND allows patients to come in while Covid+. I called to check their covid procedures yesterday & got the feeling that the receptionist hadn't fielded a Covid safety question in....a while. 😐

She cleaned everything, long wards with open windows each side for ventilation, good diet and fresh water. She is my heroine.

@1goodtern I live in fear of having to go to hospital. How can it be so bad now with such a failure of infection control? It’s like being back in a field hospital in the Crimea.

@MaiaDunphy @gardainfo Those same guards (Pearse St.) found my bag in the old public toilet in Trinity St. (long closed). That was in the 80’s - money gone £85 - no phone to lose in thise days☺️. So glad you got it back.

I'm not sure where to begin! I am beyond grateful to the wonderful Gardai at Pearse St station. THEY GOT MY MUM'S BAG BACK!! And my keys, phone and other handbag detritus (all the suff!). Losing this bag hit me disproportionately hard, and I am very, very thankful @gardainfo .❤️
