The Infantry Squad Vehicle is about to level up.
Check out this prototype of the Next Generation Tactical Vehicle that the 4th Infantry Division used for exercise Ivy Sting IV. This vehicle seats up to six Soldiers and provides onboard power capabilities to support the mission, and is a candidate in the upcoming ISV - Heavy program.

Just as AI solved chess and removed the mystery of the best move, AI is doing the same for coding, making the process reductive and removing technical differentiation. "I'm going to say something controversial: I don't think developers anymore have good judgment. Developers get to the answer, or they don't get to the answer, and that's what agents have done. The 10x engineer used to have better judgment than the 1x engineer, but by making everybody a 10x engineer, you're taking judgment away. You're taking code paths that are now obvious and making them available to everybody. It's effectively like what happened in chess: an AI created a solver so everybody understood the most efficient path in every single spot to do the most EV-positive (expected value positive) thing. @edzitron i think austerity is less of a driver behind this vs a tacit admission that the current frontier models + harnesses aren't really increasing productivity or quality; the opposite is happening. i think they're trying to push back against agi pilled devs slopifying the brand.

The remit is specifically that there needs to be "fiscal responsibility in AI operations" and that Claude Code usage is being reduced in favour of Copilot CLI. Ideas for reducing token usage are...scripts to automate tasks lol

it’s hilarious how much of a piece of shit liar ai is constantly. you have to check its work. drone autonomy training showed amazing results on paper after very little training. i had the clank visualize the model behavior and the fucking thing was cheating lmfao

Something cool about smell is that we can create entirely new scents that no one has experienced yet, but we can’t do that for other senses. You can’t imagine a new colour, for example. Any song you’ll ever hear is a combination of notes you’ve heard before.
