@SarahGwizdala @truedaviejohn @skyfoil_exe "Sacred scripture" Yeah no, Catholics don't think of Scripture as God's word. They even say "Jesus left us with a church, not a Bible." Which inherently implies Jesus did not leave the Bible.

@truedaviejohn @skyfoil_exe The Catholic Church has the fullness of faith, the sacraments, sacred scripture and sacred tradition, Apostolic succession, was founded by Christ in 33AD, and most importantly the Catholic Church is the one place where you can receive Christ in the Eucharist.

@skyfoil_exe Mine led me away. Too much distraction from God. "Pray to Mary, she'll give the prayers to God. Pray to the saints, they'll give your prayers to God. Purgatory will clean you before you see God." There's no focus on God in it. Just on mankind.

It's genuinely insane to me that there are people out there who will argue that Texas isn't the biggest state. 🙄

@CatholicArena "Mary needed a savior too" being equated to an attack is very telling of your beliefs. If Mary needed no savior, then she herself was not one that needed saving. Perfect without God's influence, as God's influence is saving.

@literaturedevil Considering she said Naruto is just acting out for attention because he has no parents to another known orphan is a pretty good reason to hate her TBH. That was season 1. She's also never on par with either of them, and that's just kinda annoying

@PlatoonPod "I see now that the circumstances of ones birth are irrelevant, it is what you do with the gift of life that matters" tops 99.99% of motivational quotes in the past 20 or so years. Absolutely beautiful line, and in a kids movie. We need more hard truths in kids movies

I'm pretty sure the Mario Galaxy movie is just a cheaper and more socially acceptable version of giving ecstasy to kids. Cash-grabs when I was a baby meant stuff like Pokémon: The First Movie, which is basically Shakespeare by comparison. Yes, even the dub. It being a kids/game movie is not an excuse. If the games were this uninspired we would not now be getting movie adaptations.

@Forty1_0 Yeah no, this take is blatantly false. Ever heard of a movie called "Alien"? It features a girl. And one of the coolest characters. What about a game called "Metroid"? Huh? Buffy the Vampire Slayer? Shall I go on?

@dragodimitrov You say that, other Catholics say other things. Catholicism, like any other sect of Christianity, is divided among potentially millions.

If Protestants want Catholics to take them seriously, they need to acknowledge: - Catholics love and worship Jesus as Lord and Savior - Catholics revere Scripture as the inerrant word of God - Catholics believe salvation is impossible apart from the grace of God - Catholics do not think they can earn heaven apart from Christ - Catholics do not see the Pope, Mary, or priests as a replacement for Jesus Deal?

@BlakjakTheGamer @CheezeWafflz Because of recent events. Probably Trump joking about Japan bombing Pearl Harbor to the PM of Japan, and the rest of that meeting going relatively great. The left hated the joke, the right loved it, the Japanese made jokes about America, the right loved that too, now it's this

Yeah, there sure is a lot of fascination for Japan this week on Twitter. No idea why. I mean, I get that it's a reminder of the moral code America once had (what we lost), but it seems to be big news this week for some reason. Even Grok doesn't have the answer to the recent postings.

@PixelBibleBytes Because of how I've seen the show affect my friends, I cannot even say a casual view is not harmful. One friend said her faith was brought back because of the show. Another said they don't have time to read, so watching is good. Another has a picture of John Roumie above him.

It's biblical, but not fully accurate. (I am a fan of the show) If you view it as fictional Christian entertainment, great! But always have the Bible as your primary source. There are additions and omissions. If you view it like the Prince of Egypt or the 10 Commandments films, you'll be fine. Frankly, it might be a good lesson to watch the show with your Bible and look for the differences and commit them to memory so you don't get confused. Last thing you want to do is go on thinking Peter's wife having a miscarriage causing Peter to struggle in his faith is biblical truth. Elements are added for drama. Keep that in mind.

The problem isn’t that Catholics revere the Mother of God (Hyperdulia) to an equal or greater extent we do God (Latria). The problem is that we revere the Holy Mother of God (Hyperdulia) at a level beyond which YOU revere God (which is only Dulia). Our earliest Marian Devotions preexisted and coincided with the dissemination of Scripture. Moses and Isaiah the Prophet were writing of and exulting the Blessed Virgin Mary for Centuries prior to Saint John the Baptist was as a lion in the wilderness.

@MaddyStrong3 @findveritasx Asking about teachings that contradicted the Bible. The ones closest to me were asking about purgatory and the Mary worship. Excommunicated that same day and declared anathema.

@metathomist Looked at what she was quote tweeting. I agree with her on this one. Nowhere in scripture is anything like that found I've read through multiple times, and making a showing of physical work to signify repentance is not found anywhere, even Baptism isn't a physical work

@BishopJaxi Yet David, who by all accounts murdered one of his best men and best friends, all because he was scared, was listened to. Popesplainers ignore everything that disagrees with them.

Why is everyone surprised that self appointed “pastor” Chad would disagree with something completely Biblical? “When you spread your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not listen; your hands are full of blood.” -Isaiah 1:15

I notice that the anti Catholic behaviour really ramps up during important feast days. Fine. Tell me then why St. John had to take Mother Mary to his home if Jesus had full blooded siblings.
Wilfred Reilly@wil_da_beast630

The idea that a non-monastic Roman citizen just opted to never have sex with his pretty wife for 40 years, and all the people who are explicitly called Jesus' brothers were his distant cousins, is a fascinating example of dogma - a thing believed because one is supposed to believe it.
