@blahajareneat I use a custom link shortener to edit the link if the original resource goes down (e.g. an issue gets deleted), so I can point it at Waybackmachine or something else.

You know what I used recently and enjoyed? Visual Basic 6 + Visual C++ 6 to write a GUI app - super fast GUI in VB6, then calling into exported C functions from a DLL when I need lower level or higher performance.

@SheriefFYI This was always the goat, imagine if Microsoft embraced this stack instead of killing it and arriving at the clusterfuck we have now (e.g. Outlook in Electron). I imagine upgrading it with things like high-dpi or dark theme support would also be way easier for them

@soy_kaizerplay @Rinnegatamante That functionality still exists in the game, but causes bad bugs in several missions. Gamepad controls weren’t supported officially for many versions and something broke in them, apparently.

I've heard microservices called a fad. It's worse than that. It's annihilated everything else. If I even suggest not splitting two things up someone rolls their eyes and says, "That would be a monolith," like we're all supposed to know how stupid that is.

@eloffd I think that like OOP I've internalized microservices. I no longer know what not-a-microservice looks like. It's been expunged from the consciousness of most people I know. It's like 1984 Newspeak. We've lost the ability to form the thought. We need help.

It feels crazy to shut down the studio that produced Hi-Fi Rush, probably the most creative and effortlessly fun game I've played this generation. Microsoft said it was a success by their standards as well. I just don't understand.
