The staggering incompetence which led Tottenham to this point now has its chance to manifest again Vinai Venkatesham and Johan Lange continue the search for Igor Tudor's successor - there is zero real evidence they will get this one right #THFC inews.co.uk/sport/football…

A three-year-old company operating out of a WeWork with reportedly fewer than five employees is being considered for up to $25 BILLION in nuclear energy funds from a trade deal Trump brokered with Japan. The company has never built a nuclear plant or completed a nuclear project of any kind. What does this company bring to the table? The father of its CEO donated $2 million+ to Trump and the GOP, and one of its advisors is a former RNC co-chair and Trump appointee. In this Administration, that’s apparently all you need.

Austin tried to pass rent control, but the state didn’t allow it. Instead, we allowed developers to build. Now it’s cheaper to rent in Austin as a % of income than in decades. Move to states and cities that build things instead of having virtue signaling policies that don’t help

This ABC News story about Iran activating sleeper cells sure sounds like what I reported about a Persian-language numbers station today. But if so, there's something off. 🧵

“In a bipartisan bill released last night, institutions that build new houses to rent would have to dispose of them within 7 years. This makes no sense. We need…both rental and for sale. Restricting what new capital can do with homes it builds will result in less housing.”
John Arnold@johnarnold

The Home Builders Assoc just came out against a significant housing bill progressing through Congress and they have a good point. Both Trump and progressive Dems want restrictions on institutional ownership of houses. Most wonks are skeptical of the policy but it polls very well, so some version will make it in. In a previous version, there was a carve out for institutions that build new housing for the rental market. The restrictions would only apply to institutions buying existing houses and taking them off the market (or more precisely, moving them from for-sale to for-rent). In a bipartisan bill released last night, institutions that build new houses to rent would have to dispose of them within 7 years. This makes no sense. We need more housing of all types, both rental and for sale. Restricting what new capital can do with homes it builds will result in less housing, undermining the bill’s purpose. Trump’s January exec order exempted those who build new homes from ownership restrictions, recognizing that new construction in any form helps address the housing shortage. The home builders are right that this bill should follow the same approach.

So the defense is that her husband was a subcontractor rather than a contractor?
Tricia McLaughlin@TriciaOhio

.@SenJohnKennedy, if you’re going to accuse someone of corruption you better have your facts straight. No, my husband doesn’t own Safe America and is not apart of it. He nor his company have ever had a contract with DHS. In fact, it is clear you aren’t even aware who either of the TV ad campaigns contractors are. Do your basic homework and research before dragging my or my husband’s names through the mud.
