Decentralized networks are often discussed in terms of the equitable distribution of value. But it's also about the equitable distribution of risk. Deployers take on the risk of building a network in exchange for speculative (sometimes nonexistent) rewards. Oftentimes, they’re simply treated as a method for companies themselves to derisk by shifting manufacturing costs to a third party. It’s not always a great position to be in. Two solutions: 1. Deploy for a company with proven demand. When a company already has 8 figures of annual revenue, you don't have to wonder whether the money actually exists or not. 2. Derisk your own operations using retail capital. The second one is what @FliteGrid will enable through its partnership with Fractals. With @fractalsfi, you’ll be able to deploy hardware and immediately recoup your initial spend, or even better, deploy hardware that belongs to the pool for a cut of its profits. This is what we’re going for here: not just a world where everyone shares in the benefits of future infrastructure, but one where nobody is disproportionately burdened with the risk of building it from scratch.

If you live in Kansas City, LA, Seattle, Boston, Dallas, or New York... You likely have a high value @FliteGrid hex near you. Your state and local law enforcement have $250m of FEMA grant money waiting to be spent on drone airspace monitoring. x.com/skysafe/status…

The 2026 FIFA World Cup may have accelerated investment in drone security, but the need extends far beyond a single event. In this latest @InsideUnmanned article, SkySafe CRO Melissa Swisher discusses how public safety, critical infrastructure, and venue operators are building long-term drone detection and airspace awareness capabilities to address growing drone activity. Really good rundown on everything Remote ID. One small counter wrt only penalizing the compliant. Remote ID actually protects compliant drone operators more than it penalises them. When a compliant drone is caught entering restricted airspace, authorities can see the flight path of the drone and tell whether it was an accidental incursion or something more nefarious. Most accidental incursions get handled as education/warning rather than prosecution, especially with RID data showing no malicious pattern. Though this is based on how it's been rolled out in the US, maybe Canada has a different stance.

🇺🇸🚢 Drone technology is getting insane! Check out this crazy full-scale recreation of the RMS Titanic over New York Harbor. It was all part of the America 250th celebrations that took place across the U.S. yesterday. Sadly, the Titanic never reached the harbor before sinking in the North Atlantic in 1912. Writer: Jamie

@kamando @JimJawja @wontonimobae The nice thing about the mandated Remote ID is that if you pair a RID sensor with even basic radar then you can spot those rogue drones by the fact they aren't broadcasting. You need broad coverage of RID sensors for this obviously.

Every consumer off the shelf drone now days emits Remote ID as required by the FAA. It gives the drone's unique identifier, its current location, altitude, and the location of the pilot or control station. So that’s already widely in use. Sure you can build your own and go without or hack it to disable it. But the vast majority of offending aircraft are likely broadcasting. There’s apps you can download to find those broadcasts but they generally suck and iOS only scans Bluetooth it won’t scan WiFi, Android will. Given phone limitations you need to be fairly close to the offending drones. That’s for the John Q. Public side. There are really good detection capabilities available to government and law enforcement now days. Heck, DJI’s own AeroScope will work out to 50km. The detection is already there and has been for some time. The prosecution and upholding standards hasn’t been. Also how many people know to call their local FSDO to report illegal drone use? Next to no one. faa.gov/about/office_o…

The only parts of equity that matter for a crypto token are governance and buybacks (indirect claim on cashflow). Both of which can be replicated onchain. Residual claim on assets is worthless for a software company that has nothing after liquidation. The real issue is that all the tokens are controlled by Cayman/BVI Foundation Companies that hold all the actual rights and there is zero legal recourse for token holders for the Foundations not following the promises they sold their token on.

If the VCs won’t buy the token without getting equity why should you? There are only 2 paths to token success Either everyone agrees the equity is worthless and just a front to do business irl Or the token has claim to equity and can be treated the same Outside of this, the project needs to do a lot of work to earn trust

With equity you have governance, a claim on cashflow and a residual claim on company assets. Tokens can have governance attached and a claim on cashflow through buybacks. Having a residual claim on a software company doesn't make sense when there are no physical assets to claim on liquidation. Crypto projects are the most extreme form of software companies. With a governance token and strong, consistent buybacks you have all the parts of equity that make sense since your residual claim would be zero anyway.

I deeply respect Erik and what he has done for crypto, and I am rooting for Venice. But token equity splits like this aren't defensible in crypto anymore. I can't see why buying this token would work out any differently than the thousands that have come before it.
Erik Voorhees@ErikVoorhees

VVV and Capital Measured by revenue, Venice has become the largest company at the intersection of AI and cryptoeconomics. Today, we announced Venice’s first round of outside capital, a $65m Series A led by @dragonfly_xyz, valuing Venice’s equity at $1 billion. Since we are an atypical company, this thread describes how this equity raise relates to the most valuable asset we have on our balance sheet, our capital token base:0xacfe6019ed1a7dc6f7b508c02d1b04ec88cc21bf

Intelligence is so cheap right now. Using claude or chatgpt is like having a subject expert right next to you. Execution and asset ownership are everything.

As drones become more common in the skies @FliteGrid becomes more necessary. If you live in the USA, especially if you live near critical infrastructure, you can buy a drone tracker and get paid for it. A few users have some referral discount codes 😉 flitegrid.io/checkouts/cn/h…

Terrifying situation at JFK. It is not an exaggeration to say that a single @FliteGrid sensor could have avoided this collision. Luckily no one was injured or killed this time.

@FliteGrid Since WW1 America has always fought wars through industrial output instead of manpower. Mass drone procurement for the military means a massive civilian drone industry will be built to support it and we're going to see a lot more air traffic in coming years.

@AlgodTrading .@FliteGrid are going for nationwide rollout of drone awareness infrastructure. Defence adjacent and launched by @skysafe who already have government contracts with DoD and DHS lined up to buy the data. Geodnet style tokenomics.
