@AustyUSA Car wash mode is extra clicks on the screen and she does not know how to do it, we have always just went into neutral. Car wash mode came years after our time and she isn’t on 𝕏 all day and has very little knowledge of her car.

Not to embarrass my wife but they other day she was getting her car washed and she unbuckled to wipe the dash, the car went into park, the track pushing the car continued on under her tire and the car behind her bumped into her. She panicked and drove her car out of the car wash manually, over the track things, covered in soap and called me crying. She didn’t know (and neither did I) that if you unbuckle while your Tesla is in neutral, the car will go into park. Sentry mode was not captured unfortunately.

@OmarOuqfi @Tesla_AI @aelluswamy Assuming you are referring to a 100 km/hr zone, 111 km/hr is fast enough for standard, what you want is hurry mode it sounds like. Hurry should go a bit faster but still not enough to get a speeding ticket.

After 300 km with v14.3.2, I find the highway performance in Hurry to be near perfection. However, the city portion needs refinement, it can feel a bit jerky at times, and I encountered a strange bug. @Tesla_AI @aelluswamy Positives for the city portion: I found that the lane choice was more appropriate and it was doing it ahead of time to avoid having to deal with a complicated situation at the last minute. The near-instant reaction to hazards is very impressive. Several times I disengaged thinking it was wrong, only to realize it had seen something I hadn’t. Its handling of hazards now reminds me of the smoothness it showed in complex situations with v14.2.2.5. On the highway in Hurry, as I said, it's near perfect, every decision is appropriate and perfectly executed. But I still think Standard shouldn’t be capped at 111 km/h and should allow a slight speed increase when overtaking. Comfort-wise, highway driving has become incredibly smooth, you really feel like you’re being driven by an experienced chauffeur. That said, I did encounter a strange bug in the city on 2 occasions. The car suddenly became very jerky and then froze. There was no one around, but I had to disengage because it refused to move despite a green light. Weird.

If you use any version of FSD (Supervised) V14, what is the most common reason you disengage (even if it’s rare)?

🇨🇦: oh my. 😬 🇨🇦’s space program is paying $200m to a Ukrainian-American company called MLS to use its “launch pad”—a concrete slab on gravel at the end of a dirt road in Nova Scotia. …. run by some interesting characters. halifaxexaminer.ca/commentary/eve…

@DriveTeslaca Why not across the western Rockies first? The rollout will be slow as it ramps up - wouldn’t there be more benefit to operators from all the vertical descents in the mountains?

INSANE: Within 24 hours, Ottawa found over $120 million for Sudan while Canadian troops overseas were hit with reported allowance cuts of $1,000 to $1,500 a month. That’s Canada in one sentence: cash for foreigners, betrayal for the people who actually serve this country.

@yunta_tsai @seti_park Oh so this is why it dry wipes occasionally? I have a rock chip protection film installed and the dry wipes are terrible for creating little scratches in it. I hope the software can figure out this film is installed and adjust accordingly.

We still just want to be able to tell it a max speed for a given speed limit. Custom profiles are a must to make this thing truly hands off, and should be one of the more trivial updates you can do. Oh that and "remember this route" for common routes, like a specific way to exit your community that you yourself would take but Google Maps never does

BREAKING: Tesla has officially released FSD V14.3 I'm downloading it in my Model Y right now. Here's everything that's new: • Improved parking location pin prediction, now shown on a map with a P icon. • Increased decisiveness of parking spot selection and maneuvering. • Rewrote the Al compiler and runtime from the ground up with MLIR, resulting in 20% faster reaction time and improving model iteration speed. • Enhanced response to emergency vehicles, school buses, right-of-way violators, and other rare vehicles. • Mitigated unnecessary lane biasing and minor tailgating behaviors. • Improved handling of small animals by focusing RL training on harder examples and adding rewards for better proactive safety. • Improved traffic light handling at complex intersections with compound lights, curved roads, and yellow light stopping - driven by training on hard RL examples sourced from the Tesla fleet. • Upgraded the Reinforcement Learning (RL) stage of training the FSD neural network, resulting in improvements in a wide variety of driving scenarios. • Upgraded the neural network vision encoder, improving understanding in rare and low-visibility scenarios, strengthening 3D geometry understanding, and expanding traffic sign understanding. • Improved handling for rare and unusual objects extending, hanging, or leaning into the vehicle path by sourcing infrequent events from the fleet. • Improved handling of temporary system degradations by maintaining control and automatically recovering without driver intervention, reducing unnecessary disengagements. Upcoming Improvements: • Expand reasoning to all behaviors beyond destination handling. • Add pothole avoidance. • Improve driver monitoring system sensitivity with better eye gaze tracking, eye wear handling, and higher accuracy in variable lighting conditions.

Picked up a pizza order. As I walked out, an elderly couple was getting out of their new Tesla Model Y. I said, “Beautiful car.” He said, “Thank you. It’s the best car I’ve ever owned.” I said, “Why?” He said, “You see me—I’m 78 and can barely walk, let alone drive. I’m taking my wife out for date night again after 52 years of marriage. We couldn’t do this with our old car. I didn’t buy this to save the planet. I bought it to save me.” 😢 All choked up, I said, “Thank you for sharing. You two go enjoy your dinner!” I see and hear this so often from elderly people buying Teslas, but it never gets old. Tesla is freedom🫶🏻
