@jk_rowling He wrote this ages ago and it was directed at me (the first part that is, not the second part, I’m not his ex wife). Bizarre that after all this time, rather than think “actually this makes me sound like a bit of a twat”, he shares it again to attempt a greater audience.

Bizarre. I thought the condition of being trans was innate and present from birth? So why are you talking about these women's husbands 'becoming trans'?

It's the pious sentence at the end that gets me. "Human rights are strongest ..." As if the institutions they'd smeared approached them in need of educating as opposed to a full retraction and apology

I can recommend reading the heartbreaking accounts on the Trans Widows' Voices website to gain an insight into what these women have had to endure. There is no support for them, instead they are expected to accept it, help it, support it. Monstrous.

@roseveniceallan My ex and his friends had me so terrorised and isolated, I figured that if showing my face didn't protect me, at least people would know what happened if one of the countless threats were followed through. THAT is what trans widows are very often up against. People need to know.

@transwidows @roseveniceallan Anyone who has been in a controlling relationship recognises this kind of behaviour towards partners/ex-partners. The desire to control doesn't end with the escape from the relationship.
