WaPo journalist Jennifer Rubin calls the failing coverage "a new low," taking the networks to task for "No pushback on lack of information on Trump's injury. It's access journalism at its worst." She noted that the spectacle of "a fascist party overflowing with criminals plot the downfall of America," is not being handled with the sense of urgency and journalistic integrity it deserves. Rubin noted that CNN barely manages to do any light fact checking of the lies told at the event.
