I will forever write grey instead of gray, even though I was born in the United States. I blame my childhood hyperlexia and the 18th and 19th century.

Waiting out eternity. Imprisoned upon this isle, awaiting the warm breath of Odysseus to breathe upon the cold mirror of her soul and reveal her heart's outline. #MythicPicnictweetstory

The girl's flushed cheeks and trembling hope made her cross. This child asked for a love potion while her own heart waited—frozen but not patient. No spell could return all she'd lost.

For Want of Warmth Sunlight transformed the narcissus petals from lemon to butter, but that swaggering show-off would spoil her spell. Now belladonna, with her drooped head whispering to the moles, she would do. Circe plucked the flower and returned to her guest.

You kick the bathroom door in and find the other him, slumped by the toilet, arm belted, new spoon burned. His heavy lids fight the light as he struggles to stand. He clips his badge to the pocket of his scrubs. It is quiet. #MythicPicnictweetstory 3/3

Spoon There aren’t any spoons in the flat, he says, you’ll have to buy your own. He removes his white lab coat and badge and gives you the grand tour. Your yogurt slides through the fork tines. You forgot, no spoons. 1/3

Will 2022 bring me the opportunity to participate in a public reading? I haven't read IRL (outside of a workshop) since 95ish. I decided I was going to in 2020, then the pandemic. I started hosting @WomenWhoSubmit open mic in April of 2020 to provide others a safe space to read.
