@amyforsandiego @nickshirleyy @therealstoryoan @RileyLewis760 In-home family daycares are private residences where providers live with their families. Showing up unannounced and asking to see children is harassment and a safety issue. Why would they welcome you with open arms? In their own homes?

There were several moments while @nickshirleyy and I were at learning centers in California when I realized I was living inside a future viral YouTube video. Today on @therealstoryoan with @rileylewis760, I shared some of the reactions we got.

@StuntManTom4547 You wouldn’t know unless you’re in the homes and that’s private property.

Hilarious. There are some legit home daycares here, but you’ll know the fake ones too. The real ones gut out homes, build playpens and jungle gyms. The fakes are pretty freaking obvious ( Chula Vista!!!!!)

@amyforsandiego @nickshirleyy So, as a private investigator, was it your professional judgment to search for, stalk, and harass people in their own homes?

Bro leave headstart alone. Yea- a lot of workers are second language learners, but they passed the background checks and education requirements. It’s a government funded program that is rigorously and meticulously audited. I was a teacher at three different facilities for a number of years. We weren’t allowed to teach without a mandated amount of supervised experience first. Get the fuck away from the kids you weirdo @nickshirleyy

The Minnesota fraud ring tied to Feeding Our Future, the $250M child nutrition case, was described by prosecutors and auditors as a COVID-era scheme that expanded as emergency rules and waivers loosened oversight. In California during COVID, the state allowed pre-licensing inspections for first-time childcare licenses to be conducted by phone or video rather than in person. Reduced oversight combined with billions in emergency funding increases fraud risk. A watchdog dashboard flags 1,159 facilities based on COVID-era fraud indicators derived from California daycare public records.

More BS from Amy Your post presents numbers without context and implies a problem that the data alone doesn’t actually establish. Enrollment and attendance are not the same thing, and Head Start programs — like all preschools — routinely have fluctuating daily attendance due to illness, staggered schedules, home‑visits, family services, and part‑day programming. Staff counts also vary depending on which classrooms are operating at that moment. By cherry‑picking two isolated inspection snapshots across 18 months, the post suggests a trend or wrongdoing that the numbers themselves don’t prove. If the goal is transparency

$3.7 MILLION in restitution. UMI Learning Center in San Diego was found GUILTY in federal court. Today I’ll break it all down with @InformedMama209 UMI Learning Center claimed 150 enrolled children while childcare providers submitted false daily attendance forms. The scheme forced @CDAsandiego and @YMCASanDiego to pay out $3.7 million in childcare benefit funds in 150 ghost kids

FRONT PAGE HEADLINE choice today by the local San Diego paper: Ignore California corruption, ignore @GavinNewsom, ignore Ghost Daycares. Investigate “conservative activists” for racism instead. They even went after @nickshirleyy & called his claims false

@amyforsandiego @GavinNewsom @nickshirleyy Why not post the whole article? Because this journalist did more digging than you did? You don’t speak with licensing authorities or the licensees. You simply demanded that payment providers release received funds. For a private investigator, that’s astonishing.

Yep! In 2024, there was a federal case in San Diego where Mohamed Muriidi Mohamed was convicted of a scheme that caused CDA and YMCA to pay out $3.7 million dollars in childcare benefit program funds to approximately 150 households. 150!!!!! The @sdut apparently doesn't think this warrants digging deeper. Instead they do political hit pieces @Kristen_Taketa

LIES. These are subsidized rates, largely supplemented by internal State and County monies with funding terms and conditions that have never stopped requiring attendance record reporting and annual third- party audits which also use a state required database to input family and qualification information. YOU ARE LYING.

@Deanne13973561 @amyforsandiego @GavinNewsom This is another blatant lie. Facility searches are public records, and parents have every right to look up these facilities. This information is available on the CDSS website’s facility search, which they refer to as their transparency page. Her screenshot is half the page.

Dangerous. The governor’s office @GavinNewsom is now limiting parents’ ability to search for violations at family daycares by disabling search fields. At JAMA, SHUKRI FAMILY CHILD CARE, state inspectors found violations for missing infant sleep logs. During an unannounced inspection on a Tuesday from 12:40–4:20 PM, there were 8 enrolled children and ZERO present during normal business hours.

@amyforsandiego @GavinNewsom I’m pretty sure this goes against the law. Parents have rights. Rights Newsom consistently attempts to trample on. Being able to search for a daycares violations is very important for parents. They need to be aware of any potential dangers associated with these daycares.

FALSE. The Governor did no such thing, nor did anyone in his administration. There has been no change in accessible information — which is governed by longstanding state law. But please continue to make up claims for clicks — meanwhile, YOUR president is trying to defund child care across the state. Is that pro-family? Is that what you voted for?
