@HealthscopeAu I’ve been helping someone complete an e-admission form. It says it will take 20 minutes, it has taken hours. A result of poor design, inability to save easily, questions that can’t be answered straight away. Have you ever done user testing on this form?

Comparing Main Street in Deadwood, South Dakota, in 1877 to 2023 reveals some interesting contrasts. Here are three fascinating facts about Deadwood:
1. In 1874, General George A. Custer led a military expedition that stumbled upon gold in the area. The news of this discovery spread rapidly, attracting a massive influx of prospectors to the region. The population peaked at around 25,000 residents due to the gold rush.
2. The name "Deadwood" originated from a small settlement called "Deadwood Gulch," which emerged around the gold mines. It is believed that the moniker was inspired by the abundance of lifeless trees found in the gulch.
3. As the town experienced rapid growth, it gained a notorious reputation for lawlessness. The absence of effective governance resulted in a surge of crime, violence, and gambling. Notorious figures like Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, and Al Swearengen were drawn to the area, further fueling its lawless image.
On August 2, 1876, Wild Bill Hickok, the legendary gunslinger and lawman, met his demise while playing poker at a saloon. Jack McCall, an unsuccessful gambler harboring a grudge against Hickok, shot him dead. This tragic event solidified Deadwood's place in Wild West folklore.

@DrGetafix @OrthopodReg I think dad still had them at home when were kids!
English

@OrthopodReg I’m assuming that’s RPAH Sydney? Did your dad work there? My grandfather was chief engineer in theatres there around that time so I imagine he had overalls just like that as well! Maybe they knew each other?

@drdrdr09 That sounds like a really relaxing morning! Thanks :) I should have mentioned though this is the “one off” or small batch order. That said …

@glynthomas This is the simplest way: browse some bookstores until you find a photo book with the quality you are satisfied with, then see who the printer is.

Oh this is awesome! I do love its persistence though :)

Me:”No, of course we don’t *really* have kangaroos hopping down suburban streets. That’s just a joke for tourists.”

@GoDaddyHelp I need some help and nobody is answering chats or phone calls? A wait time of 141 minutes for chat does not “exceed my expectations”?

I’m really looking forward to this @IxDA_Newcastle meetup on August 17! “The role of digital government in times of crisis.” I’ve only seen it from a Local government perspective.
