173 House Democrats vote against a resolution honoring law enforcement during National Police Week — as assaults on officers hit a 10-year high. Only 29 Democrats crossed party lines to support the measure, while every Republican present voted yes.

This was how the Democrats drew Georgia's then 13 congressional districts when they controlled the Governor's office and General Assembly. I do not want to hear the word "gerrymandering" from anyone who wants to put them back in power.

From someone who used to run 23 fast food restaurants across the Midwest, this is business killing legislation. Entry level employment was never meant to sustain a family of four. It’s entry level. First jobs for high school kids, part-time work for college students, or someone wanting to learn a new skill or trade. There are paths to moving up the ladder and making restaurant work a lifelong career, but the entry level positions are not meant to be the end goal. To make them $25 per hour would not only make the cost of labor too high for fast food restaurants to be profitable, it would destroy the incentive for the employee to learn more, develop, and put in the hard work for a promotion. While I know this will never pass, just the introduction of legislation like this shows how absolutely out-of-touch some legislators are with middle class America and small business owners. Rant over. For now.

Gas under $2.50 a gallon in Glidden, WI this weekend. Even CNN reports that 2026 is on track to be the cheapest year for gas since 2020. Promises made, promises kept. ⛽️⬇️
