@catturd2 The Coup happened on 1/20/21. When 25000 armed troops in masks and no identification on their uniforms locked down DC tighter than the Green Zone and took our 1st Amendment right to attend "The Inauguration" in protest... because a 4 hour riot happened elsewhere 2 weeks prior.

@DangInterceptor It was an amazing feeling. Black Rock Desert in Nevada is hours away from civilization, on a dry lake bed that felt like the apocalypse. I climbed right to the top and watched in awe. What a wonderful time to be alive and young.

@DangInterceptor Back in 2000, when the hippie desert festival Burning Man was still young, a group would come and set up a replica of the Thunder Dome and drive up on motorcycles and cars and cosplay from the film and fight it out with padded weapons. Best moment of Burning Man.

99.9% of people who "experienced" the Challenger disaster saw it on replay and now remember it as live. Almost NO ONE was watching. Everyone thinks they were. It's a fascinating collective false memory.

Anyone who experienced the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion, like I did, is probably a bit hesitant to get too excited about the Artemis II launch today. I truly hope our children don’t have to experience such tragedy. May the Universe welcome them and return them safely home 🙏

@MUKIDEZA2 "You buy the ticket, you take the ride" is my favorite. From my neighbor's father, a Vietnam vet, who used it to describe consequence for actions. Sometimes meant getting what you deserve, enjoying the hardship with the intention of overcoming it, or enjoying a surprise windfall.
