such a fun launch — try "/pet hi" in Codex app:

Pets. Now in Codex. Use /pet to wake your pet.

Your pet can keep an eye on what Codex is doing while you keep working:

Something a little fun for Friday! This was super fun to work on with @Rjdleee. Pets adds a little more whimsy to Codex, but it is also useful. It gives a bit more info about what Codex is doing while staying in the periphery. I couldn't help myself, had to make a Max Headroom pet. :)

my best guess about goblin mode is that chatty was heavily RL'd on code problems.
code problems have a right answer, eventually. but before you have the right answer, you have symptoms and smells. race conditions, things that work but shouldn't, and so on.
all the good (and autistic) engineers i know generally refer to these known unknowns as being 'cursed behaviour' as in "oh no... why did you do that... this is so extremely cursed."
this speech pattern nicely contains epistemic uncertainty when the exact cause of an issue has not yet been isolated. ie you don't need to name the bug or prejudge its cause, you can simply refer to it as "the cursed module we are going to have to open eventually"
it's not a huge leap to imagine that this becomes load bearing as a thought pattern and then generalises to a wider vocal tic
but then again
it might just really like goblins
