Not about winning over the fans, it's about earning the trust of coaches and teammates when he's on the mound. Walker can throw 10 consecutive innings without giving up a run, and many fans would still question his ability to close games.

No I totally support the move. The timing is just kinda frustrating on some level. Now Bryce has to come in and feel like a savior, which is a tough spot for him.

I’d guess Willy Adames isn’t in the lineup tomorrow and Casey Schmitt is at SS. Eldridge DH, Devers 1B, Arraez 2B, Chapman 3B, Schmitt SS. Just my guess. Will be an every day question until something changes.

How do the Giants get both Bryce Eldridge & Casey Schmitt in the lineup every day? Eldridge will either be at 1B or DH. Schmitt needs an INF spot (presumably). The only way to get both them in the lineup is to either take Devers or Adames out or try Schmitt in LF (& sit Ramos).

Excited to see Eldridge and Rodriguez for sure.
Also a little annoyed that the timing of it feels like the #SFGiants are running interference on fan anger. It feels like an attempt to distract from what's happening. This is about as negative as I've ever felt about the team.

Bryce Eldridge is rightfully getting all the headlines and excitement, but I’m really eager to see Jesus Rodriguez. He’s the catcher that was acquired from the Yankees in the Camilo Doval trade last season. Slashing .330/.400/.440 so far in Triple-A this year.

@ButcherBoy415 That's not the first guy I have seen with revisionist history on Zito. The guy was even kept off the 2010 playoff roster. He was supposed to be the "star" in SF who took the baton from Bonds -- instead he was an albatross from day one and no sane fan wanted him on the team.
