@lizzkelly7 I’m so glad I’m too old to be fishing

I went out with a guy from accounting for coffee. It was a casual first date. I ordered a standard latte, and he got a drip coffee. He insisted on paying, saying, "I got this, don't worry about it." It was $4.50 total.
The next morning, I woke up to an email notification. He had sent me an Excel spreadsheet titled Date_Expenses_Itemized.xlsx.
He had broken down the cost of my latte, added a 15% tip calculation, and factored in a prorated amount for the wear and tear on his vehicle for the 1.2 miles he drove to meet me. The grand total he requested via Venmo was $3.82.
The Exit:
I didn't reply to the email. I Venmoed him exactly $5.00 with the caption: "Keep the change, invest it in a therapist." Then I blocked him on everything.

@that_1 This is AI? what has she done to herself? Im definitely TOFU, tired, old, fat and ugly but i wouldn’t do that to my body. And dyed hair to top it off. Yuck
English

@MyLatinLife If it’s all inclusive (like with alcoholic drinks) damn right im gonna sit by the pool with a book. And be waited on hand and foot. Actually, even without booze I’ll sit by the pool with a drink.

@Hania16836 I have no problem whatsoever with kids drawing with chalk on the pavement. It is harmless, it’s just chalk with hopefully a harmless dye. It washes away, it keeps children happy and busy. Let the little ones be.
English

@LeahRain77 And i will keep the window blind up so i can look out the window. I don’t care that a passenger can’t watch his tv monitor, it’s not often i get to view the earth from a height of 25,000 - 30,000 feet.
English

This woman purchased a window seat on an airplane months in advance, and she did so because she sometimes gets Air sick and looking out the window helps with that. A family comes to sit on the other side of the aisle from her.. A mom and dad and small baby girl . The baby starts crying as she wants the window seat. The father asks this passenger. Would she mind getting up? She explains. I don’t want to do that because I do get Air sick and I specifically purchased the seat for that reason..
She held her ground and did not give up her seat. Of course the family was aggravated and giving her dirty looks, and had some things to say about her as they were leaving the plane..
My question is do you think she was right to hold her ground? I do I think it’s very insensitive of parents to put out other people because their child is not well behaved.

@King0243_PJC You’ll find similarities if you look for them

Imagine your entire identity being reduced to a permanent tribute act.
There is a fine line between a respectful nod and a total lack of personal style. Replicating the exact wardrobe of a woman who died over 28 years ago goes beyond being unoriginal, it is genuinely creepy.
Living your life cosplaying a deceased mother in law is bizarre behaviour, and if my partner did this, it would be an immediate dealbreaker.

@Symply_rhoda1 I hear advertisements for full body scans, are they worth it? The ads claim the scans can detect small problems before they become big problems
English

@luxemiaa He’s an idiot
You didn’t owe him soup
Write him off
English

A guy canceled our first date because he was sick.
Fair enough. It happens.
A week later, he told me he was disappointed that I didn’t bring him soup.
Soup.
For a man I had never met in person.
I thought he was joking, but he was completely serious. He genuinely felt I should have shown up at his house with chicken noodle soup and medicine like we had been married for ten years.
I politely reminded him that he was still a stranger to me.
We had exchanged some messages and planned one date that never even happened. At that point, I knew his first name and very little else.
He was still upset.
Apparently, in his mind, my failure to deliver bedside care was a sign that I wasn’t nurturing enough.
I’m sorry, but.......

@Romy_Holland What any woman does in a public washroom stall is her business
Yes, i understand the lineups can be ridiculous
Restrooms overall are inadequate. It’s a disgrace
English

@ThrillaRilla369 No. If the serving is more than you can eat at one sitting get a doggy bag. Better still, bring your own container(s) OR share the meal. You’ll probably be charged for an extra plate
English

@mukund Were all those extra charges and mandatory tip clearly stated on the menu PLUS that cash is not accepted (that’s illegal, isn’t it?) or was it a surprise when you looked at the bill? Not blaming you, i want to know in the event that i go out to dine
English

I rarely eat out.
Maybe once a month. Went yesterday to a restaurant (Italian, Mediterranean) in West Seattle for Mother’s Day last night.
Total for 5 of us ( we don’t drink alcohol) with one salad, humus and 3 vegetarian pastas was $97
The check said 3.5% surcharge for credit card. Then 17% service fee, mandatory.
Then tips were 20% 22% and 25% optional.
I asked if I could pay in cash.
No. They don’t take cash. Then how can I avoid the credit card fee I asked.
You can’t.
So I asked why the service charge.
It pays for the employees they said.
Then why the tip I asked.
It pays for front office staff
I don’t get it.
English

@cutiieepie6 You received a tip. Be gracious and say thank you. And get into the habit of using cash or else
English

Some guy tipped me ten dollars in quarters, and I’m still trying to figure out what kind of person thinks that’s acceptable. I just finished a DoorDash order, and he casually mentions he forgot to tip in the app—which, fine, not ideal, whatever. Then he dramatically pulls out a literal roll of quarters like he’s handing me the crown jewels.
He looks me dead in the eye and says,
“Sorry man, I didn’t tip on the app, this is all I’ve got.”
Yeah, thanks. I love holding a handful of coins like it’s 1998. I don’t use change. I’m not a parking meter. I’m not walking around with rolls of quarters or dumping them into a Coinstar just to get the money I already earned. I took it because arguing over coins isn’t how I planned to spend my day, but that doesn’t make it okay.
Tipping in quarters is peak absurdity. Tip in the app, tip in bills, tip digitally—literally anything that doesn’t involve me schlepping around loose metal. Acting like this is normal? Pure comedy. And yes, no one should ever think a pocketful of coins counts as a tip.

@Destiny15_FL @otokyo__ ??? This post was made to see what people will react to. Are my tax dollars enabling those those … tragic examples of “women”?
English

@basedcaliber @QueenAnticommie Canada too. Students get less as if they can make do on less
English

@QueenAnticommie I agree to a point. My question is why are they only making 2.13$/hr? I know the rules in some states, but that is bullshit pay!
English

@TimCoop59086596 @QueenAnticommie 15%? I remember when it was 10% and that was generous.
English

@QueenAnticommie when did 20% become the standard. Used to be 15% for excellent service.
English

@rodriQuez @QueenAnticommie And there are other eateries out there.
