Excerpt from the latest Gender Clinic News today. Professor of public ethics at Charles Sturt University Clive Hamilton “surveys the Australian scene, noting the mistreatment of dissenting psychiatrists Dr Jillian Spencer and Dr Andrew Amos”. We need more ethicists like this 👏🏻

I realize you were put on testosterone at 14 and doctors sliced off your healthy breasts six months later but other kids should still be able to have that happen to them so "I just disagree with you."

Remarkable conversation between two men that touches on women’s boundary violations & young women’s struggles to accept their sexuality, yet somehow the men can’t (or won’t) see how it all connects to women. You know, the female kind. It shows how close some men can get to seeing the problem, only to keep wandering in the wilderness: 1) @jonlovett brings up Sam Brinton, but the only comments are sarcastic: It was pretty exciting. Not a good look. It was fantastic. 2) Sedaris observes young women’s distaste with the word “lesbian,” but no deeper analysis here. 3) Sedaris correctly observes that “queer” doesn’t tell him anything and goes on to detail a story about a “queer 12 year-old.” Lovett dismisses this as an “edge case” and quickly changes the subject. Later in the conversation Sedaris mentions his irritation that “queer”includes people in heterosexual relationships, which is ironic since Lovett calls himself gay and is currently married to a woman. @Glinner

@steadylunes @crowoniii Because these people live in fantasyland and the plain objective reality is pretty painful. Similar for trans-identified males and anime girl avatars

Janet Murray@jan_murray

Dear Lush (cc Chelmsford City Council), As a woman who had half a breast removed last year due to cancer, I am writing to raise my concerns about your “Proud of My Stripes” window display. I am also, on behalf of other women who have experienced breast cancer, respectfully requesting its removal. Because mastectomies are not a fashion statement, an identity marker or something to be celebrated. They are something women undergo because they are ill, because they are frightened, because they are trying to stay alive. Around 59,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK every year. Many will undergo surgery - a mastectomy, lumpectomy or other procedure. Others choose preventive mastectomies because they carry a high-risk BRCA gene mutation. If a woman chooses to have her breasts removed to affirm a gender identity, that is her personal choice. I honestly don’t know the number of women who have elective mastectomies for this reason. What I do know is that it is a tiny number compared with those for whom breast surgery is medically necessary and not something to be celebrated. I think I speak for many women who have experienced breast cancer - and for their families - when I say this: Breast removal surgery is not something I regard as cute, playful or empowering. Nor is it something I believe retailers should be celebrating. For that reason, I am requesting that the display be removed and that @ChelmsCouncil apologise for promoting it on social media. Yours sincerely, Janet Murray

And who exactly conducted this peer review of clinical standards that contains an entire chapter on Eunuch as a valid gender identity requiring eunuch-affirming castration? What team of neutral trustworthy experts peer-reviewed the non-binary chapter that says people should have the right to customize their bodies in whatever way they choose — such as nullification surgeries so the body has no external sex characteristics or bigenital surgeries if a person wants both sets of genitals? And who peer-reviewed the hasty post-publication removal of almost all the lower age limits from the adolescent chapter because Admiral Rachel Levine demanded it purely for political purposes? The very idea that WPATH's SOC8 is peer-reviewed is absolutely hilarious. Of course the truth is, when the guidelines in this field were actually examined in a peer-reviewed systematic review as part of the Cass Report, the conclusion was that WPATH and the Endocrine Society had engaged in a process of circular citations to manufacture the illusion of consensus when their recommendations are built upon nothing but ideology and the flimsiest of evidence. This led Cass to conclude that WPATH's standards, and all built upon them, "lack developmental rigour." These fanatics are fully deserving of all the language I used in the podcast. And much much worse.
Simon Ashcroft@SAshC_Opinions

Frightening. Fanatics. Extremist. Quite the vocabulary for peer-reviewed clinical standards referenced by medical bodies worldwide. But by all means, trust the podcast.

I was a teenage girl who had my healthy breasts removed, and so were all the other “boys” you’re talking about. feelings in a child’s brain to not make normal development a medical condition. female children cannot have gynecomastia.
Dr Helen Webberley (she/her)@HelenWebberley

Calm yourself my love. No teenage girls are having their healthy breasts removed, just teenage boys are having their gynaecomastia resolved so they can live in freedom in their bodies. Also - BTW - puberty blockers prevent the need for top surgery - FYI 😘 Oh and well done to @LushLtd for recognising all teens.

NZ Health Minister Simeon Brown has not reappointed the Medical Council’s leaders, due to their blatant ideological agenda. Excerpt: You only need to look at the council’s recent consultation documents, which ask doctors to examine their own ‘privilege’, to challenge the ‘dominant culture’ of the health system, to study the difference between cultural appreciation and cultural appropriation, and to help ‘dismantle’ systems,” Brown told The Post stuff.co.nz/politics/36099…

@Rebelletrist_ @Glinner lol well the interviewer is Jon Lovett, he is famously a gay guy, he was Ronan Farrow’s partner for many years. Recently, he married Ari Schwartz, a woman (and employee) who transitioned to being a man. Yes, I too am like

The premise the interviewer gave was so deceitful. Acting as though people are just upset a man is wearing makeup and a dress. You’re spot on…just diminishes the real issues of men invading women’s spaces, organizations, and eliminating women’s rights. Men in womens prisons, women’s rape survivor groups, stillbirth and miscarriage support groups and men trying to breastfeed babies. Men trying to force lesbians to have sex with them. But he says, everyone is fine with Scott Bessent as though it’s an issue with gay people. This interviewer is the problem. He’s the instigator
