@YeseniaMar4441@tom_karnes@Duncannedd I agree that colleagues, especially ones who have been there longest, will usually know the best tools to use. They would have been at it for longer than we have and know which tools are worth our time. @DrEddiesClass#CSUBTED
@tom_karnes A4) Consulting with my colleagues to learn what works best for them would be my number 1 option. The internet is also a great source to search for resources and find out how they work. I would test the waters and figure out what works for me. @Duncannedd#CSUBTED#EDTE4200
Last evening of the Slow Chat! Here's the next question. Make sure you include A4) before your response. Don't forget to tag #CSUBTED , #CSUBEDTE4200, and your EDTE 4200 professor.
@aangeles555@tom_karnes@doctor2pi I always found Pinterest too messy, in what ways would you recommend searching through it? Tiktok I think is able to reach out to a larger audience and people do tend to post some cool stuff on there! @DrEddiesClass#CSUBTED
@tom_karnes Your peers is obviously a good answer. A teacher who is invested in their students will know where to go. Google and various tech news sites can only get you so far. An actual instructor will point you down the right path for any tool to use in class. @DrEddiesClass#CSUBTED
@mrzeeeeeeeee@Ststansberry@doctor2pi Padlet is great for collaboration! I don't think I have ever seen it used for multilingual purposes, but I can see the benefits! Definitely a good way for them to see how other's write out their posts and compare it with their own understanding. @DrEddiesClass#CSUBEDTE4200
@Ststansberry A3: just piggybacking off what most students have said..google translate, duolingo, and padlet. Also, having students complete assignments that are digital instead of traditional worksheets.. #CSUBTED#CSUBEDTE4200@doctor2pi
Wednesday fun! Here's the next question in the CSUB EDTE4200 Slow Chat. Make sure you include A3) before your response. Don't forget to tag #CSUBTED , #CSUBEDTE4200, and your EDTE 4200 professor.
@Ststansberry Duolingo can help a lot in the long term! It's a good tool to do some small lessons daily and grow one's vocabulary of many languages. Even a little bit helps and I think it's a great way to get people invested in wanting to learn a new language. @DrEddiesClass#CSUBEDTE4200
@doctor2pi A2) I would recommend using Kahoot. It keeps students engaged. It allows you to make quizzes & if you have a student that speaks another language, you can put the translated version of the question & answers along with the English version.

@TrvlTeach@doctor2pi Google Classroom is an amazing tool. It's so easy to use and free! Requiring no extra work from a school district. I think it's like ClassDojo but feels more geared to every grade in some ways. @DrEddiesClass#CSUBEDTE4200
@doctor2pi I would recommend Google Classroom as most every phone/tablet has Google built in. They are cheaper by the day allowing more access for more people. W/ Translate, even other languages will be able to gain the knowledge presented. Reaches across all the different levels.
@doctor2pi ClassDojo. This is definitely useful for K-5th as it provides a very tightnit feeling of communication. Allowing you to update families easily on their students, keeping everyone informed. It's also easy to simply reach out to parents who'd need it. @DrEddiesClass#CSUBEDTE4200
@gabygarcia2024@DrEddiesClass@doctor2pi High school can be a challenging but also very rewarding area. But which grade range isn't. I personally felt HS level is a pretty decent challenge and good to manage compared to others. Wish you the best of luck! #CSUBTED@DrEddiesClass
@DrEddiesClass Hello everyone! I'm Gabriela Aguilar Garcia and I'm currently a senior at CSUB. The grade that I want to teach in the future is high school. I'm currently not working yet but through college corps, I'm an intern at Valley Oaks Charter School @doctor2pi#CSUBTED
@AudreyLucha@DrEddiesClass Architecture sounds incredible! I didn't know high schools even offered such a course. I wish you the best of luck on your quest! Welcome to the club! #CSUBTED@DrEddiesClass
@DrEddiesClass My name is Audrey, it is my first year at CSUB and I am a recent graduate of CSUN. I am currently a long-term sub for an Architecture class at a local high school. Ideally, I will continue to teach this subject or similar subjects in the years to come
@DrEddiesClass#CSUBTED
@xlissetgonzalez@doctor2pi@tom_karnes These sites make it so easy to stay in touch with parents and they are beneficial to everyone involved. You can push out updates to parents to inform them of class schedule changes, trips, or just general fluff. It's a great way to stay communicated. @DrEddiesClass#CSUBTED
@RosaLeeHer68578@doctor2pi YouTube has changed so much over the years! I think right now, it is a perfect medium for education. You can search up so many lessons and tutorials that I think using them in class or making them yourself can ultimately be super useful! @DrEddiesClass#CSUBTED
@doctor2pi A1: Teachers and Parents can utilize websites such as YouTube to demonstrate particular concepts to their student. Another useful tool that can be used by both parties is parent square. A formal way of communicating between parent and educator!
#CSUBTED#EDTE4200@doctor2pi
@doctor2pi Sites like ClassDojo are useful tools as they allow a teacher to stay in touch with parents! Parents can do so much like message the teacher and be updated on the class schedule. Communication is key. And of course it offers other useful in class tools. @DrEddiesClass#CSUBTED
I just did the #HourOfCode - check it out! (Thanks @apartovi for supporting @codeorg) /certificates/eyJuYW1lIjoiQ2VzYXIgR29uemFsZXoiLCJjb3Vyc2UiOiJhcXVhdGljIiwiZG9ub3IiOiJGYWNlYm9vayJ9 #csubedte4200#csubted
So far very much loving this course. It has provided a lot of neat little tools that I never have heard of or using things I am familiar with and using them in a way I could never have imagined. #csubedte4200#csubted
