@CharlesFT_ @rise_pay @fxifycom The scammers email address gave it away. She isn't Cyber aware. No company uses email address that ends with gmail.com or outlook.com or those free email addresses. The email is badly written. Someone knew she was expecting a payout. Then spam her.

Is @rise_pay a scam? Short story, my mentee requested a payout from @fxifycom and got paid via @rise_pay. Unfortunately, she then received an email claiming to be from Rise support saying her account was locked and that, for verification, she should send her details to reopen it. Before sending her details, she checked her Rise account and saw that it was actually locked. So she sent her details, and just a few minutes later she received an email showing a withdrawal of $10 from Rise, and shortly after that, another withdrawal of the remaining balance in her @rise_pay account. She then opened a support ticket, and now Rise is saying her account was hacked. My question is: how did the hacker lock her account?..Where is the security? You need to refund her money, and @fxifycom should consider introducing other withdrawal methods. Screenshot in the comments section

Current situation in South Africa, as black South Africans are closing businesses of black foreigners. Why are citizens checking the immigration status of foreigners instead of security operatives?

@afcstuff We responded strong but WTF are we doing? We can't even break from our own half? Same thing that happened in Bournemouth, Southampton games. We can do better.

@now_arsenaI @Arsenal Later, they'd say Arsenal fans are petty. We just play by their rulebook but better. Just imagine if it was Arsenal fans doing this.

I’ve said this before. Forget the USD. Look at our neighbors. 3/4 years ago, the Naira was almost double the CFA, now it has crashed to less than half of the value of the CFA. Meaning if you go to Cotonou today, you need three times as much Naira than in 2021. That’s messed up

@goodmanncapital @TM_Oyelowo @Mochievous The CFA didn't change in value. It's the naira that did as it was overpriced for long with the govt artificially setting the exchange rate. It was in effect an FX subsidy. The impact of it was not just inadequate supply but also that it kept losing value & was very unstable.

This is the Part 1 of a series I am doing on Kelvin Ayebaefie Emmanuel. A rather interesting figure with a well-documented track record of misrepresentation, intimidation, and obtaining money under false pretense. What’s particularly troubling is the role media companies like @ARISEtv and @channelstv continues to play in amplifying his voice. Repeatedly platforming him on key issues and, in the process, lending him a sense of credibility he arguably hasn’t earned making it easy for him to scheme his next set of victims. The goal of this series is simple: to put the information out there, in one place, so people can make informed decisions and avoid becoming victims of whatever comes next. Happy reading! jakejo26.substack.com/p/kelvin-emman…

Unpopular opinion: The Nigerian dev community spends more time arguing about frameworks than building products. React vs Vue. SQL vs NoSQL. Tabs vs spaces. Nobody is buying your opinions. They're buying your solutions.

@goodmanncapital @TuoyoS26091 @paystack Plans, it all depends on how he implements the logic, like I said it's a recommendation I'm not saying his approach is bad or he has to follow what I said. it worked for me and at the of the day it's getting the job done that matters

Yo chat, so today I implemented a free trial subscription system with Paystack, and it was actually a fun engineering problem to solve. Natively, Paystack doesn't support trials the way Stripe does out of the box. Stripe lets you just set a trial period and it handles everything. But paystack.. i'm on my own So here's the approach I went with: When a user starts a trial, I charge their card NGN 50 just to verify and authorize it, then immediately call Paystack's refund API to return that NGN 50 back to them. This way I have their authorization_code stored, which is basically a token that lets me charge that card again in the future without them being present. After 14 days, a BullMQ background job fires and uses that authorization_code to charge the full subscription amount silently. If the charge fails, it retries at day 1, day 3, and day 5 before finally canceling and downgrading the account to free. I also worked on: > Reminder emails at 3 days and 1 day before trial ends > A daily cron job as a backup in case the queue misses anything > Full idempotency so users can't get double charged trial_eligible flag so once you cancel a trial, you go straight to paid next time, no second trial The whole thing runs on Node.js, MySQL using Docker compose, BullMQ, Redis, and Nodemailer. Cool stuff fr.

🚨 𝗗𝗜𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪: If Atletico Madrid reach the Champions League final, they’ll have a major headache with their Metropolitano stadium. Normally, they would install massive screens and a fan zone for their supporters to watch the game live at their home stadium. However, there is a Bad Bunny concert scheduled for that night at the Metropolitano. It's the 1st of his 10 concerts in Madrid. This already happened 10 years ago, when Paul McCartney had a concert at the Vicente Calderón during the 2016 Champions League final. Atletico had to rent out another stadium for their fans back then, and they may be forced to do so this year again.

WordPress sites are too vulnerable to attack. My uncle owns a big furniture company, he knows very well that I build websites, yet he gave the job to someone else, when I saw the website on his Instagram profile, I exploited it and found out it was built with WordPress. it took me less than 24 hours to login as an admin and take down the website Then he came back to me today saying this 🙃:
