People calling the ITBP Commandant’s action “dramatic” or “extraordinary” or even very brave, etc., are unnecessarily exaggerating the matter. A jawan under his command had a serious grievance, and as a responsible commanding officer, he simply went to meet the Police Commissioner through proper and disciplined channels. None of the Jawans accompanying him acted in any indisciplined manner. That is not pressure tactics or theatrics — it is leadership, accountability and institutional support. In any professional force, officers are expected to stand by their men within the framework of discipline and procedure. The fact that the matter was handled formally and respectfully is actually a positive sign, not something to sensationalise.

@gorockgo_100 Maybe it's what a CO is supposed to do. Why it's become a rage is because not many COs are doing it. Not many are standing up for the men under their command.

He simply did what a Commanding Officer need to do for the men whose respect he commands. He did it in a disciplined way. Very unfortunate part is no one is taking about the grievance and the sufferer. Unfortunately in our country if you are not the sufferer you dont even empathize wirh other forget feeling the pain. This commanding officer felt the pain of his Soldier
