Rocket Lab $RKLB has won its largest launch contract to date, a $266 million award from the U.S. Space Force supporting missile-defense development. The agreement covers 12 suborbital launches, with options for up to six more. The first mission is expected no earlier than late 2026, with most launches taking place from a new Rocket Lab location at the Pacific Spaceport Complex-Alaska in Kodiak.

I said HELL YEAH! Since then, our teams have been designing this aircraft together. Archer took our eight years of aircraft design, powertrain, and manufacturing knowledge from the commercial program and put it into something new: a clean-sheet, dual-use aircraft platform. We developed it from first principles because you can't take an existing eVTOL aircraft built for an air taxi mission and tweak it for a substantially different one. We’re at Farnborough today with Anduril showing the world what we’ve been working on: Thunder, Anduril’s defense variant of this new platform. It’s badass. We’ll share more about the commercial variant (pictured here in the white livery) later this week. $RKLB: Rocket Lab today announced it has been selected by NASA to provide three Electron launches for two separate NASA missions - PolSIR and TSIS-2– from early next year. Rocket Lab’s extensive flight heritage across more than 90 launches, Electron’s proven deployment accuracy, and the company’s ability to meet the tight turnaround schedules for both missions were key driving factors behind Rocket Lab being selected as the launch provider. Rocket Lab will fly two back-to-back Electron launches for NASA’s PolSIR mission from Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand no earlier than June 2027. A separate Electron launch for NASA’s TSIS-2 mission will take place from the same launch site in early 2027.
