Coaches who are only in it for recognition & a winning record typically don't have the ability to coach players who struggle. They only want players who come ready to make them look good. Those people are detrimental to a kid’s development, especially kids who need extra support!

@cullenoncurling Any player that has a somewhat low wrist in their throwing hand (simply because their upper body is closer to the ice surface) is prone to this “error”, if you want to call it that. Very difficult to avoid touching the top of the stone with a finger(s) upon release. Pull it? No.

So the problem we have now is that rocks are getting pulled that would not have been pulled on Day 1 of the 4s competition or the entirety of the Mixed Doubles competition or the Worlds or anywhere. No competitive curler believes this is a violation. Something has to change

Of course the game had evolved prior to that - 16 ends to 12 - which I think few remembered (but my Dad did - he played in the 1930’s). I am in broad agreement with the experimentation that the Grand Slam is doing and I also agree that differentiating the various events 2/3
