Three Illegal Foreigners Arrested After Being Caught Red-Handed in Benoni Offloading Tyres from Hijacked Trailers as EMPD Recovers Stolen Freight After Swift Tip-Off Action On Thursday 28 May 2026 at 12h30, officers from the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department Intervention and Community Liaison Units arrested three foreign nationals aged between 33 and 47 in the Benoni area for possession of reported hijacked trailers, possession of suspected stolen property, and contravention of the Immigration Act. Acting on a tip-off, officers were alerted to a suspicious articulated truck loaded with two containers seen in the Petit area. They traced the vehicle to a plot on Pretoria Road, where they discovered two trailers reported hijacked in Boksburg and observed three suspects offloading tyres from the containers before moving in. During the operation, officers recovered the two trailers and two containers loaded with tyres valued at over R60 500. A Boksburg case number was linked to the recovered property. The three suspects were arrested and detained at Benoni Police Station on charges linked to hijacked trailers and Immigration Act violations. All three suspects are expected to appear before the Benoni Magistrate’s Court soon. They will face charges of possession of reported hijacked trailers, possession of suspected stolen property, and contravention of the Immigration Act following the EMPD-led operation and the recovery of the stolen assets.

@Abramjee This court case is just a smokescreen. He probably has other devices which are not registered to him which carry the sensitive and incriminating evidence. Investigators must trace these other devices that he is or has been using.

LATEST: In his affidavit, Major General Feroz Khan from Crime Intellegence (CI) argued that the electronic devices seized during his arrest contain deeply personal and confidential information, as well as highly sensitive policing and intelligence-related material linked to his role in Crime Intelligence. He warns that unrestricted access to the devices could compromise national security, undercover operations, and the safety of individuals, potentially leading to loss of life, assassinations, and financial losses running into millions of rands. Khan further states that the devices contain life-and-death situations, which he claims were unlawfully taken. The matter was struck from the court roll today after it emerged that the devices are now in the possession of evidence leaders at the Madlanga Commission. Sources indicate that the commission has since written to Khan, saying it is investigating his claims relating to safety and security concerns he mentions in the affidavit. It’s unclear whether Khan has been issued with a subpoena to appear before the commission. Khan was in-charge of Counter Intellegence.
