Step 3: Go to BlackRock's Infrastructure Summit and announce: "We see a future where intelligence is a utility, like electricity or water, and people buy it from us on a meter." Step 3 is where you sell people's own knowledge back to them. On a meter. They took the collective output of human thought, compressed it into a model, and now they want to charge you by the token to access a version of what you and everyone you know already created. Imagine if someone photocopied every book in the public library, burned the library down, and then opened a subscription service for the copies. That's the metered intelligence business model. Two years ago, a group of pro-Palestinian protestors blocked Golden Gate bridge for four hours to bring attention to the genocide going on in Gaza. Protesters have blocked Golden Gate bridge for decades -- famously, AIDS activists did so in 1989 to bring attention to the mass die off that was happening then. What's different this time is the draconian charges that have been brought down on the protesters. Seven of those activists are currently standing trial and facing up to 15 years in prison. They are being charged with "false imprisonment," which is a first for this kind of action. At a time that Trump is cracking down on free speech and political protest, it makes no sense for San Francisco, the home of protests like this, to be cracking down at home. The DA should drop these charges.

There is no greater direct corruption of the principles of democratic governance than to allow a billionaire to personally purchase the highest office in a state. If Tom Steyer can spend 200M to purchase an election, you don’t have a democracy, you have an oligarchy. If Xavier Becerra can have corporations purchase an election for him, you have an oligarchy. Without publicly funded elections and spending limits, democracy is a sham.
