@RyanHoliday If you are suffering, hang in there. You are not alone. There is hope.

@cessonmute I lost the first 49 yrs of my life.
I lost the first 24 to "maladaptive daydreaming". To protect me, my mind took me far, far away from reality. I have few memories of those yrs.
I lost the next 25 to profound depression. I was suicidal for 25 yrs. I should not still be alive.

@ThrillaRilla369 Let people in. Find several people that you trust and tell them but you are going through.
English

@schiz04renic Let people in. That is, I started telling some people this I was struggling.

@KupcakeProse That is super helpful! Thank you for sharing that. I just finished the first draft of my first book, so I don't have a refined process. My book is nonfiction, and here is how the process looked for me:
1st: Dump thoughts
2nd: Organize thoughts
3rd: Do a "compassion pass"

@GrulkeLamonte Fantastic! Thank you for building homes like that. And thank you for sharing details so generously.

I build $200-$250k homes, and I can honestly say it’s very difficult to make money from them. I’ve posted a few examples of my complete cost breakdown.
Jon Brooks@jonbrooks
We want builders to build starter homes at $200–250k so the next generation can actually... start. Instead, they sell $400–500k+ homes and call them “starter homes.” $3,190/month is NOT a starter home.

@recovery_your It is wild, and comforting, to read your post. For the past seven years, when I tell a quick version of my story I say, "I lost the first 49 years of my life."

@atlasx100 The things that have helped me the most are:
1) Be open to growing
3) Have vulnerable conversations with trustworthy guys
4) Practice being fully present
5) Talk lower, slower, & less
6) Practice being steady & undisturbed
7) Acknowledge your emotions, especially shame & grief
English

@Dearme2_ I battled severe depression for 25 years. Relief came after four years of:
1) Finally telling some people
2) Getting professional help
3) Beginning to understand trauma

@RyanHoliday That is both meaningful & meaningless advice.
It is meaningful because it is more foundational and important than people realize.
It is meaningless because it is not that simple. If it were, then many/most people would have done it. It is very, very difficult for most people.
