BREAKING: The US Dollar's share of global payments hit 49%, the most in 12 years, according to SWIFT data. Over the last two years, US Dollar usage in international payment transactions has jumped by 9 percentage points. At the same time, the Euro's share plummeted from ~39% to ~21%, the lowest in a decade. Meanwhile, the Chinese Yuan usage increased from ~2% in 2023 to ~5% currently. The US Dollar remains the most dominant global currency and it's not even close. What is happening to the Euro?
