This is Islamophobic and divisive - it’s showing a short shared prayer at the Open Iftar not ‘domination’.
We are proud of our diversity in London and Trafalgar Square hosts different religious and cultural events all the time - including the Passion Plays at Easter.

Too many are too polite to say this. But mass ritual prayer in public places is an act of domination. The adhan - which declares there is no god but allah and Muhammad is his messenger - is, when called in a public place, a declaration of domination. Perform these rituals in mosques if you wish. But they are not welcome in our public places and shared institutions. And given their explicit repudiation of Christianity they certainly do not belong in our churches and cathedrals. I am not suggesting everybody at Trafalgar Square last night is an Islamist. But the domination of public places is straight from the Islamist playbook. Trafalgar Square belongs to all of us. It is a national memorial to our independence and our salvation. Last night was not like a televised football match or a St Patrick’s Day celebration. It was an act of domination and therefore division. It shouldn’t happen again.

Labour Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood launches new scheme to give up to £40,000 of your hard earned taxes to failed asylum seekers so they can leave the UK. Mahmood launched the pilot project to pay 150 families whose asylum claims have been rejected £10,000 per person with a maximum of £40,000 per family to return home or resettle elsewhere or risk being forcibly removed. Imagine being paid a tidy sum like that after entering a country illegally in the first place. Absolute madness. Stop them coming in the first place.

Illegal migrants who break the law, refuse to leave the country or work in the UK unlawfully will face losing their accommodation and financial support.
The British taxpayer will no longer foot the bill for asylum seekers who break the rules or can support themselves.
