I have massive adhd. Spent a decade self employed doing web design, marketing, consulting etc. Everything felt “hard” and “not quite right.” Turns out it’s because I was in roofing & home improvement before slinging shingles across the north east with a new adventure everyday and work felt like work before I made the leap. So I started a farm. Built a brand. Started flipping items that turned into a liquidation company and now building a woodshop. Everything we do has a direct feedback loop now as well as my hands dirty at the end of the day. Never been happier.

Claude Opus 4.7 is insanely expensive around 7.5× the token cost 🤯 while Sonnet 4.6 delivers almost the same performance (~98%) at just 1×. So the real question is: are those tiny gains actually worth paying 7.5× more?

This is absolutely insane - This American borrowed $96,000 in student loans for a bachelors degree - She’s already paid back $165,356 - She still owes $220,810.73 Again, she only borrowed $96,000 “I have paid almost double what I even borrowed in the first place, and I owe so much money. I am running backwards at this point” How is this legal? This is such a scam. This is why students can’t pay off their loans, the terms are beyond predatory

My neighbor just got laid off after 22 years in government IT and cybersecurity. I told him the same thing I'd tell anyone with deep technical knowledge: Go into sales. Specifically, cybersecurity sales. Here's why: The government paid him probably $250 to protect their systems. The private sector will pay him $250K to $400K+ to sell the tools that do it. Same brain. Different seat. Triple the upside. Enterprise cybersecurity sales reps have a median OTE of $275,000. Top performers clear $600,000 a year. Most salespeople sell what they don't understand. He'd be selling what he spent two decades mastering.

To become a licensed psychologist you need a 4-year degree, a 2-year master’s, and often a PhD. That’s 8 to 10 years and $150k in debt to start at $55k in a clinic. An HVAC tech trains for 3-6 months, spends $8k, starts at $55-65k, and if they open their own shop they’re clearing $200k within 5 years. We have a mental health crisis AND an HVAC shortage at the same time. Both matter. Only one gets a guidance counselor pushing it. And it’s not the one that actually pays.

@Tim_Denning Here is the answer: They were told repeatedly how they were lazy for living off food stamps, or that playing games all day isn't a "real job" or that if they don't put themselves into 100K Student Loan debt, they won't amount to anything more than a McDonalds worker. Take it.
