@newstart_2024 Oh jfc
Nobody is grinding their own peanuts
The amount of shit people have to do to avoid being poisoned is insane
English

Your “natural” peanut butter is probably rancid.
Dr. Paul Saladino dropped this on Megyn Kelly: the oil on top goes bad within 4 weeks, yet jars sit on shelves for 12–18 months.
Plus peanuts are high in aflatoxin, a mold toxin linked to liver cancer.
His fix: Grind fresh organic peanuts yourself, eat within 5–7 days, and store it in the fridge.
Jif was never healthy… but the “clean” stuff needs real work too.
What’s one “healthy” food you’ve had to rethink lately?

@LadyDispo @TylerCWhitmore The score did a lot of heavy lifting is the point
Sorkin’s writing style is total ass with not a hint of realism, but ok
English

@green0ut1 @TylerCWhitmore I find this kind of comment odd. As if the score is ornamental; not part of what inherently makes it a film. No Fincher, lesser film. No Sorkin, lesser film. No Eisenberg, lesser film. Yeah, take away the score it’s a lesser film, but then you’ve changed the film’s DNA.

I am so in for this one.
Brad Pitt. Alaska. A plane crash. A retired Special Forces operator. One loyal combat dog. No CGI multiverse nonsense, no superheroes, no forced plot twists—just survival, grit, and man versus nature.
The fact that it’s directed by David Ayer and reunites him with Brad Pitt after Fury makes me even more bullish. Everything coming out of the early previews suggests it’s less of an action movie and more of a story about resilience, loyalty, grief, and survival.
“One last mission” is exactly the vibe.
Not saving the world.
Not stopping an alien invasion.
Just a broken warrior and the only partner he trusts trying to make it home.
That’s the kind of movie Hollywood forgot how to make.
September can’t get here fast enough. 🐺🏔️🐕🦺

Mail in ballots raised our taxes.
This is a crock of shit.

Late-arriving ballots continue their enthusiastic embrace of higher sales taxes in Los Angeles County. "Yes" on Measure ER has overtaken "No" in the June 8 update of the vote. Post-Election Day, it has moved in one direction only.

okay admittedly this is probably going to be incredible

Day care is causing the ADHD epidemic.
That’s the provocative take from psychotherapist Erica Komisar on John Anderson’s podcast. She argues that putting very young babies into long hours of daycare creates chronic stress that flips the brain’s stress switch (the amygdala) on way too early.
It goes into hypervigilant mode, eventually burns out, and leaves kids in a constant low-level fight-or-flight state, which gets labeled as ADHD.
She says there’s no strong genetic cause for ADHD. It’s largely a response to the environment we’re putting kids in.
This one really made me pause. We’re wiring tiny brains for survival mode before they’ve even had a chance to develop properly.
If much of the ADHD explosion is coming from early chronic stress and separation, then rethinking daycare norms and early childcare could dramatically improve kids’ mental health long-term.
What’s your experience or observation, do you think modern daycare schedules are contributing to rising ADHD rates?
