Remember this from April 2024? After several delays the case finally went to court on March 27th 2026. @smarkets LOST and had to pay the entire balance, all legal fees plus 8% interest over the whole period. The sum of £2495.96 was finally paid on Wed 15th April 2026. In summary they allowed a fraudster to log in, change card details & remove the balance to a 3rd party account in a totally different name and never asked for anything, not even the front & back of the new card. All they would say was that they had followed the criteria they use (although they wouldn't tell us what that was) and that their decision was final and there was nothing we could do. So we issued legal proceedings on them.

From a purely electoral standpoint (not that I don't have opinions about it from a non-electoral standpoint) Iran has to be one of the dumber moves in recent memory. Maybe the base case is that things get back to normal, but the risks for Trump are weighted to the downside.
