@henri_fjord It’s not just Jews. The same happened in Ireland when a man from South America stepped in to save children when they were being attacked. There was a go fund me that raised a significant amount for him. It’s human nature and not a religious cultural response.

This day last year was filled with joy and hope for the future. We were celebrating Remy’s birthday a couple days early because Harvey was finally going in to have his surgery for his scoliosis. We were so looking forward to the next chapter for him and for us as a family. He never should have had to wait like he did. He never should have had to spend a third of his life waiting for ‘urgent’ surgery. No child should ever be left in pain to deteriorate and expected to just accept it. These children’s biggest concern should be making Santa’s nice list, not their status on a surgery list. #JusticeForHarvey #NoChildWaiting

Going through paperwork to sort and came across Harvey’s report from school in June. That last paragraph was heartbreaking to read now 💔 #JusticeForHarvey

@rteliveline please don’t let this be a theme of your presenting, to go deep into the very personal experiences of disabled children @kcuddihy

💜We Deserve a President of Courage, Compassion and Empathy 💜 Tomorrow, please don’t sit at home, your vote matters! As a disabled woman, I’ve felt the impact of decisions that shaped how our State views equality, care and human worth. @catherinegalway stood with us when it mattered, during the Care Referendum and the fight to scrap the Green Paper. She spoke intelligence, critical legal analysis, compassion others spun confusion. Catherine listens, leads with integrity and acts with fairness. She understands that equality isn’t charity, it’s justice and the states responsibility to uphold. Ireland deserves a President who embodies courage, ability to scrutinise legislation, knows what government really means, understand legislation, with expertise, compassion, empathy, and heart. Catherine Connolly is that person. So tomorrow, let’s do it again — vote with conscience and compassion. Vote 1 Catherine Connolly. Thank you so much. ❤️ #ConnollyForPresident #Equality #Respect #DignityForAll

Over the last few years as the mental health amendment bill moved through the stages, I asked myself, “why am I doubting that at last a human rights based mental health amendment Bill will be an enacted, when all around me are so positive? Is my experience with the State such that I can’t imagine a commitment to human rights?” Yes, is it the clear and unequivocal answer. Until ableism is fully defined, accepted as a driving force for systemic discrimination and denial of human rights, pertetuated by capitalist State policy we will remain on the same merry-go-round. It happened when the Government allowed people to be denied their human rights under the Capacity Act, allowing amendments for he continuation of Ward of court applications to progress. It tried to happen with the Care referendum. It tried to happen with the green paper on reforming payments to disabled people. It happened when the mobility allowance was removed because a disabled person over 65 won an Equality case. It’s happening to over 1300 young people denied their liberty forced to live in nursing homes for older people. It’s happening to children who don’t have a school place. It’s happening to thousands of disabled people, many young graduates who are not provided with appropriate levels of personal assistance services to participate in employment, community, live in their own homes. Activists, allies and representatives of orgs we need to stop turning up at meetings accepting crumbs from the table, smiling for the camera in the knowing that those Gov TDs/Ministers in that photo with us go into the Dail where they’ve already decided the fate of Disabled citizens. We must get hard guarantees. And we need to be allies for each other even when the specific policy/legislation isn’t directly impacting us. Only we as a collective can end the divide and conquer that is pervasive in the wider sector and movement. We have to be there for each other. Human rights means rights for everyone. #RightsNotCharity

@TuckerCNews The disrespectful treatment of President Velinsky was shocking! It really showed how poorly Vance regards the President of Ukraine. And to try in humiliate by saying you should say thank you. -1
