@WayfarinPhantom @VideosYan Timing basicamente.

Me pergunto o motivo...

No dude, I’m not reading another self-indulgent X article written by some engineer at an AI startup about how all jobs are about to become obsolete and how it’s going to crash the economy. The discourse around AI is crowded with pseudo-intellectual doomers pumping their own bags with recycled apocalypse folklore. AGI is the loch ness monster and every company swears they’re moments from capturing it on video. “OOO OUR PATTERN MACHINE IS BECOMING SO SMART SO RAPIDLY THAT WE ARE BARRELING TOWARDS IRRELEVANCE AND [INSERT SECTOR] IS FINISHED!” I will literally die of boredom. AI isn’t a god or a grim reaper. It’s a tool. Tools don’t end civilizations, but they sure do a great job of exposing who doesn’t have anything interesting to say.

I don't know. I don't know if I believe you. Do you ever get excited? Maybe that's the problem. You're just too chill. It's hard for me to not think that deep down inside you're threatened by AI and don't think it will work or don't want it to work. But you're smart enough to know somehow it will. This is honestly how I feel. If I can't figure out in my head how it will work, then my conclusion is it won't. And of course I'm threatened by it, I'm an old has been. The frustrating thing with AI is I know it's going to work, but I can't figure out how to make it work, but I know the conclusion is this is going to work.

some thoughts on some of these heavily automated token burner approaches that are popping up i'm definitely not arguing that they're completely useless but i have a hard time seeing it as the general way to build things. it does let you minimize how much work you do but only via spending an amount of tokens you'd never naturally pay for and companies offering subscriptions are seeing issues with this because it's increasing average spend and breaking the economics and outside of things like porting a codebase to a different language, or large migrations if you put in 20% more effort you'd can usually get it done with way less cost and time

@yacinelearning as a guy in my 20s, I can straightforwardly say: It is objectively the worst time to be in your 20s the whole world just decided to tell how you wont be needed for anything

i'm confused why no one ever thinks about the psychology behind this stuff when a programmer tells you "my entire job is just prompting" they are just very excited about discovering a novel way of working every tool whether it's neovim or AI or functional programming starts off with a period of overuse because we're all looking for the feeling of finding a secret everyone else is missing out on the novelty also makes you literally work harder (temporarily) because you love experiencing the new setup after time goes by you eventually realize you lied to yourself about how much of an impact it was making and settle into something more balanced anyone not self aware of this dynamic is going through it for the first time
Deedy@deedydas

A few software engineers at some of the best tech cos told me this week "My entire job these days is prompting Cursor or Claude Code with Opus 4.5 to do what I need and sanity checking it." We've crossed some intangible threshold of AI generalizing to "most" software.

A tech billionaire mocked Pope Leo XIV’s call for ethical AI. The post was deleted — but not before exposing Silicon Valley’s deeper discomfort: a pope they can’t buy or bully. It also revealed something older: the Valley’s original sin — the desire to be God. thelettersfromleo.com/p/tech-billion…
