So, early yesterday morning I had a close encounter on a gravel road in Kansas. Isn’t art supposed to get your mind engaged? You can't tell me these red sprites aren’t art :) still analyzing lightning data, but guessing 150kA + bolt. There was even a ghost left by this one.

Just north of Orion’s Belt lies this beauty, Messier 78, with a hint of barnard’s loop in the top left of the frame. A reflection nebula approximately 1500 ly away, this target is oft overlooked for some of the more well known nearby neighbors. #Astrophotography

Dubbed NGC 6589 and NGC 6590, this oft overlooked portion of Sagittarius is amazing because it displays emissions, reflection and dark nebulae all at once! #astrophoto #nft

NGC 4753 is a lenticular galaxy located about 60 million light-years away in the constellation of Virgo. It is notable for having distinct dust lanes that surround its nucleus. The galaxy is a member of the Virgo II Groups, an extension of the Virgo Cluster. #Astrophotography

Hiding in the constellation two remarkable inhabitants of the cosmic pond of gas and dust below and left of center, the tadpoles! Composed of denser cooler gas and dust, the tadpoles are around 10 light years long and are likely the sites of ongoing star formation. #Astrophoto

@astrofalls In your case you can try adjusting the framing and rotate it. It’ll likely an internal reflection from light from Alnitak hitting the edge of the filter.

Looks like I’ve got an Alnitak reflection, any ideas on a creative solution?

@astrofalls I feel your pain. I’ve been trying to shoot the horse for a couple years with the 17”. My reflection is slightly different but shows up in broadband. And then actually shooting Alnitak I get these other reflections.
