It's one thing for a social media site to be run by the billionaire who founded it. It's not great. But I perceive even greater danger from it being bought by a billionaire who has shown an interest in sculpting his public image. Musk's motive seems to be shaping public opinion.
Elon Musk started out as an alright guy. Electric cars? Great. Going to Mars? Noble pursuit if perhaps a bit over-ambitious. But now he's meddling in international conflicts and buddying up with an anti-semitic celebrity.
This will be my last thread on #Twitter. I am trying Tribel. m.tribel.com/Gregb121a8c/wa…
Staying on Twitter after #ElonMusk owns it is like getting your news from Fox News or CNN under John Malone.
Democratic socialists: look at the Nordic countries, some of the happiest places on earth, low inequality, low poverty. We should be more like them!
Conservatives: have you considered we could be more like Brunei??
There are options and I’m choosing @TribelSocial as my platform for multiple reasons. First and foremost, Democracy over a man who can single handily either help or destroy our country. He’s choosing the latter. @elonmusk
@dainserk Gerrymandering is a big part. Republicans have drawn disticts such that they win the majority of seats by small margins while losing a few districts by large margins. It's possible to win a majority of seats with a minority of votes.
Can any American explain to me why are conservatives poised to win the house when the majority of Americans oppose policies from Republicans? Am I missing something?
Wow. A China-based team at TikTok’s parent company planned to use the TikTok app to monitor the personal location of specific American citizens.
The project would’ve involved accessing location data from US users’ devices w/o their knowledge or consent.

@ExistentialEnso@MightySpxdey Hot take: high offices should come with lifetime salaries. That will decrease the temptation to take cushy "consulting" jobs afterward that reward favorable treatment to donors while in office. Salaries for elected officials should also be much higher.
@AllStatesAreBad I'm anti-work. But I think the Marxist idea is that work doesn't have to be terrible. Work without bosses on your own schedule can be enjoyable and fulfilling. Work is a fine thing, when it's voluntary.
Work is so authoritarian. I don't know how people can't be anti-work. Some marxists have this idea of making people work in factories all day. There's nothing radical in that, it's just the same thing as now.
Justice Sonia Sotomayor did a talk in Chicago tonight hosted by Roosevelt University. She was asked how she maintains relationships with judges she disagrees with — Clarence Thomas, in particular. Here’s what she said:
@joncoopertweets Gotta be Ron Paul. What's so stomach-churning is that I can tell he's too smart to fall for his own bullshit, but he has no qualms about suckering others into it.
@BeauTFC You inspired me and I can confirm there’s no Uber eats at my new address out in the country. That’s another subscription that I can cancel now.
Inbox 1: WAIT! Do people really move out to the country and then expect food delivery.
Inbox 2: What do you mean? Can you not get a pizza where you live?
So there's a guy named Clarence who will absolutely pick up food in town and drive it to you, but it's $25....
GOP Chair Ronna McDaniel is LIVID that Social Security has increased 8.7% under President Biden. She would HATE if you retweeted #HandsOffSocialSecurity and got it trending number one.
