I'm coming up on 2 years alcohol free. Last year I asked Sam Parr about his journey being over 14 years alcohol free. He has a very cool way of looking at it and it's inspiring for anyone trying to give it up. I think 25 years from now a lot more people will live this way.

I used to run a big Meetup group and we hosted meetings at coworking spaces. It’s a perfect magnet 🧲 for the community. A few tips: 1.) There needs to be something VERY unique there. Like an insane statue or lighting, crazy art everywhere, etc. because the weirder it is, the more people remember it + share it. 2.) Having a speaker every month on the “First Friday” keeps a good pace and it makes it easy to recommend and remember. (“Bro, you going to First Friday?”) haha 3.) Use name tags. Cheesy, but helpful. And I started every meeting with a “round table” intro - who you are, what you do, what you’d like from the group. That facilitates connections and then people know who to approach after the meetings. It’s chaos once a demo is over and people go rogue, so best to donate the start. 4.) If you can do local giveaways, people enter with their nametag + email or business card. It’s crazy how many people will enter to win a pizza 🍕

Tempted to establish a holding company for my 3 brands and then lease a 2500 sq ft coworking space in the heart of my home town. Someone convince me not to do this.

Can someone in SF help me with a social experiment? I want you to go to a coworking space and start confidently talking about a startup founder, by name, who raised a crazy amount of money, say $250M, with a cracked AI startup. Founder doesn't exist, startup doesn't exist. I want to see how many people follow your made up story to avoid admitting they have no idea what you're talking about. I wager 80% will act like they know what you're talking about with total confidence but I need someone on the ground to confirm. Survey 100 people over 7 days for justifiable sample size. I will pay you in Schrute Bucks.

@petitecyclist yeah zwift is probably the long term move so i can cycle while my kids are asleep

@danielcberk Outside is more fun but Zwift is also a good option to build up fitness without putting extra strain on the knees.

Need to increase my weekly mileage sustainably and consistently. Goal is to be at 30-35 weekly mileage for a 2-3 months before marathon build in June/July First time I’ve done this for as extended a period of time. Priority 0 is not getting injured.

@petitecyclist Yeah but not consistently enough. Back in college (eternity ago) cycling was my main sport but now that running is my main the time commitment to do both is the barrier
