@divbyzero I have an earlier "edition" where Euclid's proof has a mistake (it was assumed that p_1 * ... * p_n + 1 is itself prime). Glad to see they fixed it.

My friend got these pudding cups. (As in, “the proof is in the pudding.”)

A plane flies perpendicular to the line of sight. Its sound lags by some angle. The sine of that angle is the ratio of the plane's speed to that of sound. You're welcome.

If Wordle words were selected randomly and independently, you would expect at the very least one duplicate each year, usually at least 5 in fact. You're welcome.

Congress needs to pass universal background checks, ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and confirm Steve Dettelbach as head of the ATF. It’s time to turn this pain into action.

The idea that an 18-year-old can walk into a store and buy assault weapons is just wrong. What in God’s name do you need an assault weapon for except to kill someone?

It takes a monster to kill children. But to watch monsters kill children again and again and do nothing isn’t just insanity—it’s inhumanity.

R question. Let's say that df$A is "nested" in df$B if knowing the value of A tells you the value of B. What's the easiest way to summarize which pairs of a dataframe's columns are nested?

Could two followers please copy and re-post this tweet? I'm trying to demonstrate that someone is always there, especially at this time of year. Call 800-273-8255 (National Suicide Prevention Helpline US). Just two. Any two. Copy, not retweet. Let’s all look out for each other.

A convenient unit for describing fluxes in the H20 cycle of our planet is 10^12 cubic meters/year. Which is a thousand cubic km per year. Have a nice day.
