@iCreators007 No one is sending people still able to play with grandkids to a care home. The elders own the home, control the money, and decide where to live until they are too sick to live without medical caretakers.

Sometimes I struggle with the concept of care home in the western world. You mean a parent would sacrifice their time, energy and resources in raising a child and when they are weak, old and in their vulnerable state, the child sends them to a care home. We don't do this in Africa. That's what family is for. Our old people still need to feel the warmth, love and care of family and not live with strangers. They want to talk to their grand kids, play and mingle with family they worked so hard to build. Life does not have to be so individualistic as it is in the west.

I went to the care home today to retrieve my father’s belongings. This is what was presented to me. I had to ask twice for a private place to sort through it. I said nothing, nor will I name the “care” home. My father’s life was not garbage.

We kept my mom at home until the last week of her life but it took both me and my husband taking a break from our jobs and paying a full time caretaker. She fought the caretaker and was a strong woman, and she needed specialized care

At a public playground right now and there’s about 8 different families here- one set of parents have put about 200 Easter eggs all over the playground that are only for their kids and expect all the other parents to be constantly fending their kids away. How would you handle this as a parent?

This woman is on her own for the first time and she’s discovering that things are she likes are expensive. So to fix it, she goes over to her parent’s house, grabbed a mini shopping cart and does her “grocery shopping” at her parents house at a deep discount. When you were on your own have you ever done this, is it still theft if it’s your parents?

@HazelAppleyard I’m a believer in staying with people when you made a vow to stay with them, but something bad needs to happen to this man. Blaming her and especially concealing finances isn’t acceptable. Talk to a counselor together and a lawyer privately.

Every time I step into Walmart I lose a little more faith… Why are people out here shopping in full sleep mode? Pajamas, slippers, hair looking like they fought a tornado and lost. Did nobody think, “maybe I should actually get dressed before going out in public”? I’m not asking for anything fancy — just basic effort. The bar is literally on the floor and people are still crawling under it. It’s not just lazy, it’s straight up embarrassing.
