@grimbold Hi Nick, sorry to see this. Can you confirm the postcode for this area? I'll take a look into it further. Thanks - Muhammad

@writethewrongs2 @minxyminx1952 @johnredwood Why use a brand new premium EV as a benchmark to argue from? Average price of a mass market EV in the UK is £36k. Entry level £16k now available. And the second hand market is growing. I could equally say, someone bought a petrol BMW M2 for £60k, so petrol cars are unaffordable

Yes, but the costs will be far more if we are reliant on fossil fuels. Every-time there is turbulence in the world - Russia invading Ukraine, Isreal and the US invading Iran, prices shoot up. We are held hostage by these occurrences and too reliant on oil etc. We can produce much more renewable energy but it takes the political will to do it. Ultimately if we want energy freedom and cheaper costs, the only way is renewables.

The shortage of oil and gas from the Middle East underlines the stupidity and irresponsibility of UK energy policy which makes us so dependent on imports. When will the government encourage and permit more UK production?

@JuliaHB1 The "Türkiye nonsense" is simply respecting a sovereign nation's formal request for how it wishes to be known internationally. I wouldn't be surprised if you still say "Siam", "Persia" and "Ceylon" when referring to parts of the Empire.

I've sponsored Amelia Weeks, who's fundraising for Crohn’s & Colitis UK on @JustGiving. You probably don't know Amelia, but if you admire the big commitment she has made, please consider making a donation - even a small donation is a *big* encouragement. justgiving.com/page/amelia-we…

Starmer makes wild accusations about what I'm responsible for- but my pro-growth policies weren't actually implemented (with the exception of getting rid of Sunak's Health and Care Levy). The havoc was caused by the Bank of England/economic establishment and their allies in the Conservative party in order to STOP them happening. This was an extraordinary undermining of a Prime Minister who had the mandate to deliver those policies. The problem cannot therefore be the policies (in fact the counterfactual has driven up debt and stymied growth). It's bigger than that. All of the attacks and smears on me since are an effort to cover up how deeply undemocratic the British system has become.

This seems like a very well put together, non-partisan, summary of useful information. Might be handy if you're discussing freedom of speech in the UK at the moment.

@ConHome No. All I can see is more and more reasons to be glad that (this particular version of) the Conservative Party is gone. Perhaps when I see evidence that the main communication channels of the Conservatives are back in the hands of grown-ups, I might at least start to consider.

@TomTugendhat Probably the world that started in 2010 with a 20% cut to MoJ budgets [pro-rata for the Prison Service] and then just carried on from there... ... ?

@David_Cameron @RishiSunak You don't believe that. Whether people agree with what you did as PM or not, they also know that you are Premier Division compared to his Isthmian League. People aren't stupid. But I respect your loyalty to a shrinking afterimage of what the Conservative Party once was.

Take it from someone who has appeared in a few TV debates: if you can only talk about the past, like Keir Starmer did tonight, it’s because you don’t have any plan for the future. @RishiSunak does.

@andreajenkyns @BorisJohnson Is it too much to ask that Conservatives act and speak in an adult and dignified way, thus showing respect for the people that they seek to represent?

With so many MPs retiring. I think @BorisJohnson should stand in one of these seats. Time to 'Bring Back Boris'. We need him to help stop Sir kneel a lot, flip-flopping, anti-Brexit, not knowing 'what a woman is' Starmer and Rayner from getting into power.

@RestIsPolitics What do you understand by "neopopulism" ? Contingent on that, do you think it's 'a good thing', or 'too early to say', or... something else.

@darrengrimes You're right. If only we could freeze culture, not least the UK monarchy, at a fixed point in time. Maybe round about when you were a child. Then there'd be no need for discomfort, or scary change, or to explore what and how things are. *Everything* bad would just go away.

How near the bottom of the barrel are we when our incumbent government seeks to scare us into keeping them in power? Since when was it a leader's role to instil fear and insecurity into those they 'lead'? The coinage of totalitarianism I suppose.
