To cross Dune have adapted whole novels like Harry Potter IMO.

There was a time 2-3 years ago where a game world of this size would’ve gotten me so excited.
Cut to today and I just don’t have the time or interest to play games of this scale anymore. I don’t want 1,000 side quests. I’m 45 trying to balance work, life, and hobbies. I’m good.

Crimson Desert world is so massive and diverse, it took John Linneman from Digital Foundry roughly 4 hours of traversal and exploration to go from the opening village to the desert. He also noted that he hasn't felt this need to explore since RDR2 and Breath of the Wild.

Opla ruins the Strawhats completely. This isn't them. That's not Nami, that's not Sanji, Zoro and don't even get me started on Luffy. Atrocious writing and acting. Usopp is the only passable one. People who say the SHs are perfect haven't even read OP properly and I stand by that

Hot take: gameplay > story by a mile.
A great story can’t save boring gameplay, but great gameplay can carry a weak story any day.
That’s why I don’t watch movies at all and just play games… and why I’m still day-one hyped for Crimson Desert even if the story ends up mid.

@grimgone @Walahute @NikTek I can handwave most issues the game has though because it was Nitendo's 1st big attempt at something to that scale with Zelda, and in execution it was very fun, even if it did leave a lot to be desired. Can't say the same for TOTK though. That one I just have a grudge against. ha
