With Everton applications opening later this week, what level of uplift in applications can we expect now that more Standard Pot supporters are eligible? Looking at the last three seasons, comparing the first three away games before the first home cup game is played with the next three away games once STHs become eligible to apply, the following uplifts were seen: • 24/25: 21% • 23/24: 7% • 22/23: 19% The difficulty with this data is understanding the cause. Is it fewer applications during the summer holidays, or the impact of the cup scheme and the first home cup game being played? If we were purely based on the data we have access to, we’d expect circa 15% uplift in applications. Either way, success rates appear to be down for many, and it’s reasonable to assume applications will increase further now that the first home cup game has been played and more people are eligible to apply. Attached the data for you to make your own assumptions.
